"We often find there are networks of brilliant people, but very few brilliant networks. We see this as an opportunity to make this a brilliant network. Connecting leaders with leaders to do things that none of them could have imagined doing alone and doing it together is a powerful idea worth investing in." -David Rankin, Great Lakes Protection Fund

Building a Brilliant Network Big change is possible when people work together, generate new ideas, and forge partnerships. That’s the goal of the Great Lakes Clean Communities Network (GLCCN), an effort supported by the Great Lakes Protection Fund, where leaders connect in new and powerful ways, and determination drives innovative ideas to address environmental problems locally and throughout the Great Lakes. Since Fall 2013 we have been building a “Brilliant Network” to enhance the work being done by “Brilliant People” who are protecting the Great Lakes. This GLCCN is the first of its kind network that provides a portal for sharing best practices, sharing tools and resources and networking with colleagues and peers. The GLCCN also has developed an Ecological Scorecard (Ecoscore) that provides ways for your community or organization to track ecological improvements and progress towards your goals.

This is the place to where the GLCCN delivers tools to the job-site. You can search for new tools, submit a tool you use or like, and help us review, rate and share other tools and best practices. This is where we want people to get into “The Game”. The Gamification makes it fun, interactive, rewarding and evenly provide a bit of friendly competition. If you have a tool to share put it here… If you need a tool get it here…

Although the Institute of Water Research (IWR) will coordinate this effort, we have compiled a diverse and talented team at Michigan State University and across the Great Lakes to develop the Great Lakes Clean Communities Network.
