London Wall

Pavilion

London Wall Place is a historical site situated in the City of London, the pavilion stands next to the St. Alphage Church Ruins damaged in 1940 and the contemporary surrounding with a corten steel bridge meandering at 5m height. In response the design reference the rich characteristic of the stain-glass windows of the church as a driving point to provide a contemporary shelter for summer performances. Technically the structure is comprised of identical structural components arranged on a grid and erected to form a sculptural piece. The idea is to pre-fabricate the kit of parts off site and assemble them with a unique construction sequence that maximises the simplicity of each components. Fig 1 Final 1:100 Pavilion Model

London Wall Pavilion The pavilion is built off-site and brought into the site to be carefully built with a special sequence of method. For future development the design is able to adapt and expand in current or other potential context in the X and Y axes for expansion. The scheme is currently situated in Morgate and will be erected in the same location for two more years. The Final 1:100 presentational model is created with CAD CAM technology, such as digital fabrication and 3D printing. It was then assembled and finished by hand in the studio.

High Holborn

Interior Design Cousins & Cousins is designing a high-end office building on High Holborn street with a retail store front on the ground floor. The approach was to provide a highend experience for the users. With the expert knowledge of crafting residential buildings we are seeking to provide a comfortable working enviroment for the people inhabiting the building. Majority of the task I was working on were re-designing the interior public and members spaces, along with the creation of bespoke furniture and features in the building. Additionally I was also aiding several planning application for this project. Fig 1 Final 1:100 Pavilion Model

Design Development During stage 2 and 3 many key spaces were sketched to convey the quality of the space during clients meeting. These were done through a mixtures of hand sketching and Photoshop. Each material were considered carefully regarding the texture, colour, finishes, maintenance and marriages agaist other materials. Bespoke Joinery Perhaps one of the most important key spaces in the building is the members area. It is a (dims) area with a mixture of open public and private spaces for a diverse of range of use from a bar to individual working zones. All the joinery’s were made on modelled in SketchUp to a high standard. Fig 1: ISO Metric Collage of bespoke joinery Fig 2: Joinery Sheet

Members Pods The members pods (model in page 12) are private spaces with mix-uses such as, meeting rooms, massage rooms, recording studio, yoga spaces and more. The design of each pods therefore reflect the function it serves. Again we found it incredible helpful to communicate our design through diagrams and sketches. These are produced with 3D modelling and photoshoping. Fig 1-2: Perspectives Fig3: Section Fig 4: Diagram of Pod

VIS House

Residential

Designed for a high profile client, the family holiday house is tucked into the hills of Croatia. The project responds closely to the vernacular design of neightbouring houses with a mordern twist on the terrace and punctures.

Silecroft Cafe Competition Located in Silecroft the cafe frames the coast with windows and dry stone walls in different moments of the building. The project was completed in two intense weeks. Material marriage was crucial in the project to both fit in and stand out in the context. A cumulation of model making, drawing and material sampling were produced to provide a holistic understand of the scheme Fig 1: Conceptual 1:100 Model Fig 2:

Fulham Modular Pods The office modular pods are designed as extended meeting rooms and offices from the existing office park. Each modular pods are manufactured off-site and partly fabricated onsite with a precise construction sequence. I was helping the team with setting out drawing packs and building a 1:100 model for clients and neighbours to understand the scheme. Fig 1: Interior perspective Fig 2:

Planning

DAS & Drawing Pack In the last quarter of my time with Cousins & Cousins I was asigned to lead three planning applications for the project High Holborn. Advertisment Consent, Extension of Generator on roof and a Temporary Marketing Suite (all with DAS and Drawing Packs). All three were unique and came with individual challenges, which were tackeled and resolved with communication to special consultants and the Cousins team. This was a particularly a step-up for me as it was my first time leading, it has devloped my proffesional skills and moreover on technical drafting.
