ABOUT US Fashion &Arts Xchange Group Inc. (aka F.A.X.) is a not for profit organization founded in April 1994 by Gwenveria Sargeant to create opportunities for minority students and professionals who desire to become valued players in the fashion and visual art industries, located in NYC. Our company encourages the spirit of diversity in the fashion and visual arts industries. We foster an environment where these individuals can seek information, develop careers, reevaluate their progress and can be proactive in asserting a valued presence in these highly competitive industries.

STYLE-F.A.X. is a bi-annual resource guide, to be published in June and December, that lists hundreds of products and services which can further enhance the experience of our fashionable members and event guests. long after they leave the event. This valuable resource will also be available for a fee on-line. The guide includes websites, fashion & art schools, museums , galleries, designers, trend publications, manufacturers, showrooms, as well as textile firms and other companies that provide valuable services, and can help users expand their business with other fashion and art professionals. Who will become the fashion icons of tomorrow is anyone始s guess; if we at F.A.X. have anything to say about it, those icons will emerge and develop, in part at least, because of our efforts emerge because of our efforts.

F.A.X. TALKS

In commemoration of 20 years of existence as a service organization, the Fashion Arts Xchange Group will be hosting a series of informational talks (FAX TALKS) on a variety of areas of interest to fashion professionals and aspirants. These will feature leading edge industry professionals, and will be held at bi-monthly intervals leading up to the fourth quarter, in which FAX will host it's 20th anniversary gala celebration scheduled to take place at a suitably prestigious mid-town venue. From the cutting room to the salesfloor.... Are you ready ??? Talk #1; Are You Ready? (tentative title)From the Cutting Room to the Showroom; Getting your Garments into the store. In this, our first installment of the FAX TALKS series, we will explore what steps are necessary to establish one始s self in the fashion and art community. Our all-star cast of panelists will consist of players in the game such as buyers, sales reps, manufacturers as well as designers. They will share their professional, and personal experiences as well as provide advice on what it takes to make it in this business, to addressing topics such as education, networking,they will share what steps they took on their paths to success, and answer important questions like; how much money do you need to invest?, what is the difference between styling and designing, should you focus on dept. stores or boutiques. It takes more than ambition to succeed in this cut throat business. Whether it be making one of a kind designs or producing a line for a major department store, this discussion will get you pointed in the right direction. In this installment of the FAX TALKS series we will discuss the roles of Publishing and social media and explore what opportunities currently exist in publishing. The days where print publications were the only source of exposure are gone. With the emergence of social networks such as twitter, Instagram and Facebook what is the best way to market yourself? Additionally, where does this age of digital interaction leave traditional publishing outlets? Our panel will include Publishers, fashion bloggers, editors and writers from publications like Women始s Wear Daily, Elle magazine and Fashion Avenue News . All this all this and more will be discussed by our panel of Publishing professionals and writers professionals in our second Installment of FAX TALKS. Event Demographics This event is expected to attract an audience of approximately 300 guests including VIPs, A-List “Celebs�, Models, Fashion Executives,Artists, and other Business Owners from the New York Metro area and beyond.
