Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean, and Northern Cyprus lies directly 70 km south of the Turkish mainland.

The climate is described as “intense Mediterranean” –this means that, in general, the island enjoys short mild and temperate winters and very long hot summers.

The main economy drivers in North Cyprus are tourism, construction and education.

The country has a population of approx. 400,000 (last census 2011)

The main currency is the Turkish Lira, however, GBP Sterling, US Dollars and Euros are all accepted forms of currency.

Ercan International Airport in the north flys via Turkey to many worldwide destinations, with Larnaca International Airport available in the south. Ferry travel is also available from North Cyprus to the Turkish mainland.
