Eco-neighbourhood’s design Richelieu - France

Use the past to design the present The first landscape project of this year, was oriented on a train station’s rehabilitation in Richelieu (Indreet-Loire). We had to take care of different questions, as the arrival of an bicycle path and the conception of an eco-neighbourhood. After the researches phase, we wanted to keep the train station’s heritage, to create some landscape breakthought and to link the project to the existing site.

The objective was to find the good balance between the public spaces and the private habitations. I chose to create a high urban density in order to developp the public uses and increase the green spaces quality.

The main objective was to reduce the car impact and create the maximum of pedestrian paths. I also worked a lot on the transition between the private gardens and the public spaces in order to increase the biodiversity at the neighbourhood scale.

Redesign a main urban axis La chaussée Saint-Victor - France Create a centrality The main objective of this project was to redesign the main axis of «La ChausséeSaint Victor» a little city in the «Loire-et-Cher». I wanted to reconnect the axis to the existing neighbourhood by the creation of pedestrian walkways to revitalise it and to create some intern flows. Besides, the objectif was to design the space in order to highlight the landscape heritage as the Loire, an exisiting stone quarry and the various specific Flora of the site.

I wanted to design this masterplan according to the pedestrians expectations. Mixed with nature trails, soft paths and different vegetation atmospheres, the pedestrians is now considered and is the main protagonist of the site.

Boost the Rochefort’s wetland area Rochefort - France

Design a flexible space Located along the ‘Charente’ river, 10km (6 miles) far fom the Atlantic ocean, the Rochefort’s wetland area his rich by his biodiversity and his history (used to be a military airport). Completely disconnected from the city and without any interaction wih the river, the objective was to conceive something flexible and create some agricultural, cultural and ecological attractions in order to revitalise this secluded site.

The connected city Oberbillwerder - Germany 1st price competition As a part of my exchange at the Academy of architecture in Amsterdam, I had the opportunity to work at Karres and Brands where I was involved in the Oberbillwerder’s competition. Located at 10 kilometres from the Hamburg’s city center, we had to transform some agriculture lands into a smart and a resilient city. In association with the danish architecture firm ADEPT, we decided to design a «connected city» in order to create an urban entity and reconnect the surroundings neighbourhood to the large scale lanscape.

This sketch represent the water system of the city. The main objective was to collect the waste water from the agriculture land and the neighbourhood in order to clean it by the phytoremediation. I also wanted to connect the system to the existing water features (river, lake...) in order to lead the pedestrian to the surrounding landscape

The master plan enlight how the city is connected to the surrounding neighbourhoods and the lanscape features. The water system leads us to the large scale and the paths are connected to the other urban centers in order to create a continuity

Ein riesiges Zukunftspotenzial, das spezielle Funktionen über Nachbarschaftsgrenzen hinweg verbindet

In order to create an urban entity, we decided to developp several pedestrian paths which connect the surroundings urban centers. The purpose was to think the «connected city» as a meeting point which leads to the urban activities (sports, shcools, cinemas...) and to the large scales landscape features (river, agriculture lands, forests...).

Feinmaschiges Fußgängernetz macht Oberbillwerder super zugänglich

The design of the city was lead by the past agriculture plots which splited the site in several strips. In order to connect the neighbourhood to the landscape, we decided to developp the exisiting pedestrian paths in order to create some global continuities and reduce the urban/landscape disruption.

The water management was one of the biggest problematic of the project. As the site is located on a flood zone, the water create different atmosphere according to a humidity gradient. It also help us to brings a large phytoremediation program and several activities (canyoning, swim area...)

Private gardens design Ibiza - Spain

Mediterranean grace The experience I could acquire with Jean Mus & cie agency, was extremely helpful. This one, enriched my vision in the respect of the gardens art within a specific geographic context: the mediterranean shores. Those internships helped me to have a different vision and gave me a tremendous professional experience. This property is located in Ibiza (Spain) on a steep montain flank. The objective was to imagine different atmospheres according to the climate, the topography and the client wishes.

Ficus nitida The Ficus nitida was used to create a link with the existing vegetation which was composed with Ficus, Pinus and Quercus

Waterfall and pond The water create a humid environement and allows us to draw a moss wall

Stairs Draw in a riprap environnement , the stairs goes through an intimate space create by the endemic vegetation

Mediterranean atmosphere Composed with Pistacia lentiscus, Thymus repense, Rosmarinus corsica and Myrtus communis, the plants palette was created according to the surroundings ÂŤmaquisÂť

Located in Ibiza, this house was built on a steep montain slope just in front of the sea. Because of the topographic situation, it’s organised on several terraces where we decided to create for each of them, different atmospheres («Shady garden», «Cacteae garden», «Citrus garden»...)

Study trips and internships Site analysis Every year, the school of the Nature and Landscape gave us the opportunity to make several study trips mostly in France. Those experiences help us to enlarge our vision in different areas: Geological, pedological, botanical, ecological or geographical studies and to represent those by the help of the drawing.

Kew Gardens London - Great Britain Every year during two months period, we have the opportunity of an internship preferably in a foreign country. During my first experience (2015), I had the chance to discover, the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew and his famous palm house where over 800 tropical and sub-tropical plants are growing. This internship, enriched my horticultural and botanical knowledges. London life experience was particularly interesting, between various visits of parks and museum.

Palm House

Brooklyn Botanic Garden Brooklyn, NY - United States In my second year of internship (2016), I had the opportunity to work at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in New York. The experience was extremely interesting: In addition to my daily work, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Michael Van Valkenburgh agency (MVVA). During more than two months, I attended many project meetings and follow the South garden project’s management.

Front de Seine Paris - France

Looking up

This photographic work is a part of my diploma’s site analyse which is located in the Paris’s XV district. Design in the late 50’s by Raymond Lopez and Michel Holley, this neighbourhood was designed according to the slab urbanism, the brutalism architecure style and is inspired by the Charter of Athens (horizontal and vertical zoning). Even if the site has a rare location (in front of the Seine, 5 minutes walk from the Eiffel tour), it’s totally secluded and disconnected from his urban environment. The verticality, the scale or it complex structure rised in different levels, create an important rutpure with the rest of the «traditional» city. I wanted with those black and white pictures show the oustanding elements I could noticed during my first site visits.

Texture and structure Arborescence Drawing is a strong personal art form. It’s an essential tool which is able to represent our space perception and different elements. Those sketches are the example of a ‘trees book’ we had to realize for plenary session about trees structure.

Experiment by matter This scholarship, give us the freedom to experiment architectural and landscape approaches by using many tools. Drawings, models and installations gives us the opportunity to apprehend and perceive in a different manner our futur professional life.

This 2 metres (6.5 feets) high structure represent the organisation of an mycorrrhizae. I had to build it as a part of our ÂŤrepresentation classÂť in the second year.

This gateway was made for the last project of the first year. The purpose was to design an architectural structure (my choice was this gateaway) and add it in a park. The objective of this exercice was to think the landscape by the architecture and vice versa.
