The Kenton County Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Celebration runs June 1-August 31. The 2021 Summer Reading theme is Reading Colors Your World, developed by iRead Reading Programs. In-person programs are expected to resume June 1 and will include programs that explore humanity, nature, culture, science and more. The Library is planning to host in-person and online summer kick-off events the first week of June. Patrons can participate in Summer Reading via paper book logs and raffle tickets, or online with Beanstack. Children can earn a book prize and a SRC T-shirt or drawstring backpack, plus raffle tickets for other prizes for reading or listening to books. Adults can earn raffle tickets for reading or listening to books and attending book-related programs. Teens can earn raffle tickets for reading or listening to books and attending any Library program. Patrons who participate through Beanstack can also complete activities to earn additional raffle tickets. Activities range from trying new things to exploring the world around you. A full list of prizes and instructions will be available on the Summer Reading webpage starting June 1. There is something for everyone at the Library! 1. Check out an ebook or watch a video - Use our Overdrive or Hoopla service to checkout an audiobook, ebook or stream a movie on your mobile device or smart TV. 2. Track Your Reading Using the Beanstack App you can track your family’s reading. Try our latest challenge 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. For every 100 books your child reads, they will earn a new goal sticker! At 500 12 MAY 2021
books, your child will receive a special, half-way to goal prize! At 1000 books, your child will receive their final prize! 3. Finish a Project with the STREAM Center & Empower Tools - Visit the STREAM Center at the Erlanger Branch for access to equipment including laser cutters, t-shirt printers and more. Empower Tools (321 W. MLK Blvd - Covington) is a great place to start those DIY projects by checking out the right tool for the job. 4. Book Bundles - Perfect for busy families! Use our online form to select a genre of picture books
