Easter Boredom Buster BY FLORA M’MBONE

2. UNDER THE SEA

Easter is here! The kids are on holiday and are probably in your hair; bouncing off the walls and being…well, kids. Watching TV all day isn’t going to cut it. ‘Hop’ on to it and change things up a little bit this Easter. Here are some ideas for you and your family to engage in over the long Easter weekend. 1. OZONE TRAMPOLINE PARK The newest and arguably the biggest trampoline park in Kenya, Ozone, has a great ‘urban street’ ambience. Your kids are going to love this! There’s tasteful graffiti on the wall depicting Nairobi landscapes and a decked-out matatu sticks out of the wall above the reception desk: its interior has been converted into a cool seating area. In addition to trampoline jumping, activities include foam pits, a dodge ball court, a ninja course, ‘slam dunk’ trampolines and rock climbing walls. The price varies by height and peak and-off peak seasons. During off-peak, which is Monday to Thursday, anyone above 110cm is Ksh750 and below 110cm is Ksh550. During peak season, which is Friday to Sunday, anyone above 110cm is Ksh950 and below 110cm is Ksh750. An extra Ksh 250 for adults and 150 for kids will be required for a pair of safety grip socks, which you can keep and use next time.

bonding, birthday parties, perfecting your bowling skills and general entertainment, especially for teens. There is even a league you can join to compete against others. Bowling is Ksh 350 per person per game (Mon to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) Charges go up to Ksh 500 per person from 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and all weekends and public holidays.

Under the Sea at the Village Market is a nice indoor play area for kids. It has an ‘under the sea’ ambience with walls painted with sea creatures. The kids are going to have a ball and you can join in on the fun too. There’s a sand box, a painting area, and there are ball, sponge & Lego pits. If you’d rather just sit and watch the kids, there is a seating area dedicated to parents or chaperones. The charges are Ksh. 350 for kids under 3 years and Ksh. 550 for older kids on weekdays. On weekends, prices go up to Ksh 450 for the younger kids while those over 3 years are charged Ksh. 750. Chaperones and guardians pay Ksh 200. 3. VILLAGE BOWL The ‘Village Bowl’ is a modern, 11 lane Brunswick bowling alley that is perfect for family

4. MAJI MAGIC AQUA PARK Get wet and wild at Kenya’s 1st inflatable water park attraction of its kind at the Waterfront Karen. There is definitely something for everyone. Try out the water sport challenges like: Stand up paddle boarding, aqua zorbing, rope swings, giant slides and other inflatable obstacles. Safety is guaranteed with lifeguards certified by the Kenya

Life Saving Federation on site. Each session costs Ksh 2,000 per person and lasts for 1 hour. The charges are inclusive of wetsuit and life jacket hire. 5. EYE OF KENYA (FERRIS WHEEL) The largest Ferris wheel in East and Central Africa, the ‘Eye of Kenya’, at Two Rivers Mall is an impressive 60 metres tall. There are 40 cabins, each having a capacity of 6 passengers. A ride is 17 minutes long and offers riders incredible views of Nairobi. The cost to ride the Ferris Wheel is Ksh 500 bob per person and it’s open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days per week.

to the Iron Throne would be a satisfying and well deserved pay-off. Cersei Lannister Maybe Cersei Lanister will hold onto the throne? The biggest hole in this theory is the prophesy of Maggy the Frog. When Cersei was 10, she visited Maggy the Frog, a fortune teller and asked to have her future read. Maggy told her that she would bear three children who would all die. She also told Cersei that she would be queen but her reign would be short-lived. Maggy’s final prophesy, the valonqar (high Valyrian for little brother) shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you. Before the end of season 7, a popular fan theory named Jaime as the likely contender for Cersei’s murderer, but after he deserted her and rode North, it’s unlikely that Cersei will let him get close enough to kill her. That places Euron Greyjoy as the next possible candidate. Cersei might let him sleep with her- after he brings the Golden Company to Kings Landing- just so she can secure her hold on him. But Euron is not as soft as Cersei thinks he is. He killed his elder brother Balon at the bridge of Pyke and became king of the Iron Islands. He will not hesitate to do the same to Cersei and lay claim to the Iron Throne. Euron Greyjoy He has the backing of Iron Fleet as their naval commander. He is a master manipulator, wildly unpredictable, seemingly immune to fear and notorious in naval combat. If he fulfils the prophesy of the valonqar, he might lay claim to the Iron Throne and secure Kings Landing for himself once the succession battles begin after the Night King is defeated.

Tyrion Lannister One fan theory runs that Tyrion could launch himself toward the Iron Throne were it to turn out that he was an illegitimate Targaryen, as the books hint that Prince Aerys - later known as the Mad King - raped Tyrion’s mum Joanna Lannister, and Tywin Lannister always insisted that Tyrion was no son of his. The dragons seem to quite like him too, suggesting he’s got Targaryen blood. His knack for power play and shrewd diplomacy would make him an excellent ruler. However, he lacks the military power of Dany, Cersei or Euron, and has pledged his loyalty to Dany as hand of the queen. Even though it’s a bit of a stretch that Tyrion will sit on the Iron Throne, he is my favourite contender for ruler of Westeros. The Night King This would be a bleak ending to Game Thrones if the Night King decimates the living and launches an era of endless winter infested with ice zombies.
