Ein Jahr nach der Eröffnung des neuen Bahnhofs hat Art on the Underground eine neue Publikation über die Arbeit von Alexandre da Cunha (*1969) an der Battersea Power Station in London herausgebracht. Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset ist eine monumentale kinetische Skulptur für die U-Bahn-Station. Das Kunstwerk besteht aus zwei Friesen von 95 und 60 Metern Länge, die sich über die gesamte Fahrkartenhalle erstrecken und sich gegenüberstehen. Inspiriert wurde das Kunstwerk vom ehemaligen Kontrollraum des Battersea-Kraftwerks und seinem System aus vertikalen Stäben, das die Erzeugung von Strom und dessen Abgabe an die Stadt regelte. Durch die Kombination mit Anklängen an den täglichen Ablauf von Morgengrauen und Abenddämmerung verweist Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset auf Zyklen, Routinen, das Alltägliche und die Ewigkeit.

To mark one year since the opening of the new station, Art on the Underground has launched a new publication on the work of Alexandre da Cunha (b. 1969) at Battersea Power Station in London. Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset is a monumental kinetic sculpture for the underground station. Stretching 95 and 60 meters in length, the artwork incorporates two friezes that face each other along the length of the ticket hall. The artwork was inspired by the former control room at Battersea Power Station and its system of vertical bars that regulated the production and output of electricity into the city. Combining this with resonances of the daily flow from dawn to dusk, Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset refers to cycles, routines, the everyday, and eternity.
