Hampton Bays The most densely populated hamlet of the South Fork is also the place with more waterfront land than any of its Hamptons neighbors. Quogue Though Quogue and East Quogue share a name, the village and the hamlet are decidedly different. Quogue, which was initially named “Quawcanantucke” by the Shinnecock Native Americans, was populated in the early 1700s.
