CAMELBACK GOLF COURSE

CAMELBACK GOLF COURSE fall 2020 During my studio I was assigned to explore the ideas and design within Alvar Aalto’s Experimental House in Finland. Once initial research was done we were tasked with taking the home and placing the existing structure in the Sonoran Desert located in Arizona. We were also tasked with expanding the design by at least fifty percent and had the possibility of changing the existing program. Once the building was located in the desert I played with Aalto’s idea of indoor/ outdoor living and turned the existing building into a club house located on a golf course. I found the perfect location in Paradise Valley right on the edge of Camelback Golf Course that would allow me space and freedom to expand the building how I saw fit. I kept the same idea of having rooms to move freely indoors and outdoor since the weather in Arizona makes that possible over three-hundred days a year. I added outdoor spaces to hold events, and multiple bar and dining areas for more formal seating.

FABRIC

FABRIC COMPLETED DURING THE FALL SEMESTER STUDIO 2019

I worked with a local shop in Tempe that allowed designers to come into their space and take advantage of the programs they had to offer. FABRIC allows fashion designers to not have to mass produce, able to have musicians record in the studio space without crazy expenses, and many other design elements where people can utilize FABRIC. Our goal was to expand the space and make it into a place where there was form and function that allowed FABRIC be more efficient have hold more workshops and artists.
