University of the Third Age
The University of the Third Age (U3A) in Malta was launched on 23 January 1993. It is part of a worldwide network of learning communities for older persons. U3As are founded on a common philosophy of older persons coming together to teach, learn and share their wisdom, just for the satisfaction that these activities bring. No certificates are necessary for joining and no certifications or accreditations are awarded.
Lecture delivery The main centre of the U3A is at the Catholic Institute in Floriana. In addition, it operates from three other branches, two in Malta - St. Patrick’s Salesian School in Sliema and the University’s Cottonera Resource Centre in Vittoriosa - and one in Gozo at Għajnsielem.
