Taka Yamaguchi Taka Yamaguchi, 88, died on Friday, May 1, at Manor By The Sea in Ocean Grove. Born in Kearny, she was a lifelong resident. She worked for many years in the textile industry in New York City. Miss Yamaguchi was an extensive world traveler. She loved animals, especially cats and also enjoyed figure skating. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington in Kearny. Taka is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents Hidetaro and Shinako (nee Okumura) Yamaguchi; five sisters Shigeko, Shinabuko, Shidzuko, Tada and Seiko; and three brothers Kadzuo, Tsugio and Mitsuo.
