//ESSENTIALS // These utensils are used by a lot of students and designers in their daily life. Many sketch materials , computer, tablet and personal things. Quite a lot for just one work desk isn´t it? Either you have a huge table and enough space for your stuff or the exact opposite is the case. I really hate messy work desks and I´m not able to work on such one. So I decided to design a desk for my personal claims...

// The idea was to design a work desk, which meets requirements of designers. It should have stowage space for work material without losing work space. In the best case are these materials ready to hand, when you need them. Soon I had the idea, to insert shelfs in the table top, which can be closed. So you are able to work with free space and take your materials out if required. 19

20

// The paper shelf can be clamped simply on the edge of the table without any attachment. This is really handy, because you can move this shelf so you can reach it easily. The pencil case is inserted in the table. It´s suitable for markers and other pencils.

21

22

// This work desk is designed for computers with monitors primarily, which can be placed on the enhanced plank. So you have a better sight at work. The cables can be placed inside the felt loop, which is located on the back of the table. This prevents cable clutter or loose cables. 23

The task of the third semester was to design an elementary chronograph, which runs only with natural elemnts. Electricity and other engines shouldn´t be used. // The four elements were light, sand, warmth and water. After several experiments I decided to choose water, because it offers the widest range for movement. // My concept was based on the idea, that the spectator focuses on the chronograph and perceives the time conciously. Anyway he should get a signal what time it is even when he can´t see the clock.

29

//RENDERINGS The chronograph consists of multiple parts. On the top is a cistern with a small hole on the bottom so water can drip through. Below that is a catch tank which collects the water.

This is attached to a lever, which sinks by increasing weight. At the further end is a kind of ball bearing located witch four iron balls. When the lever starts to sink the balls are lifted and the fall through a hole and land in an alley. The balls symbolize periods of time so can see how much time already has passed.

The theme of the second semester was winter sports. The task was to create a winter sports gadget which form should be reduced. // I went for a sleigh, because I wanted to originate an alternative for people, who neither go skiing nor snowboarding but don´t want to relinquish fun. A sleigh is an ideal opportunity, because it is easy to manage and also fast if you want. // Something which bothers me about sleighs is the transport. Eihter you have a car and no problem with transporting or you have to pull the sleigh behind you while you are walking to the piste, which is really uncomfortable. // So my idea was to design a sleigh which you can fold for transport and carry like a sling bag. So you can walk without any problems and you don´t have to hold something heavy.
