Have you got a question about the SAP Business One Starter Package? Hopefully our Frequently Asked Question brochure can provide the answer.

Q: What is the difference between the SAP Business One Starter Package and SAP Business One? A: The SAP Business One Starter Package is different to the full SAP Business One solution in two main areas. The maximum number of users available in the Starter Package is 5, whereas in full SAP Business One solution you can grow well beyond 5 users, with organisations running today with 150+ users. In addition the full SAP Business One solution contains additional functionality over and above what is available in the Starter Package. Q: Can I extend the Starter Package with specific enhancements from SAP Business One Software Solution Partners (SSP)? A: The Starter Package can be extended with solutions from SSP’s as long as you don't exceed the 5 user limit, and only with solutions that use the functionality available in the Starter Package user type. Q: What database does the Starter Package run on? A: The Starter Package will run on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and can also run on the Express Edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 which is free but does have limitations on database size, number of users, etc. Q: How big can my company grow to before I will outgrow the Starter Package?

A: The Starter Package can be implemented with between 3-10 days support from Frontline. A preconfigured solution is available to help speed up the process and make it as fast as possible. Q: Can I implement the solution myself or do I need support from Frontline? A: We would always recommend that you work with our experienced SAP implementation team, to ensure that the project runs smoothly and you get the quickest return on investment. However, with the pre-configured content it may be possible to do the implementation yourself if you have experience in ERP installations and have implemented a small business ERP solution before. Q: How do I maintain the software, is there an annual maintenance fee? A: Similarly to the standard SAP Business One solution, and like all modern ERP solutions, there is an annual maintenance fee that covers you for updates, new functionality and access to SAP patch releases. The actual fee is dependant on the number of users you have. Q: How easy is it to move to the full SAP Business One solution? A: It is very simple to move to the full SAP Business One solution. You can upgrade to the SAP Business One solution, with no migration costs, no new technology, no training costs and no new software packages. You will keep your existing SAP Business One environment and benefit from the additional functionality available in standard SAP Business One, paying only for the new functionality.

A: The Starter Package is limited to a maximum of 5 named users so as soon as you need more than that, you’ll need to look at moving to the full SAP Business One solution. Once you do that though you have a choice of having a Professional user license and Limited User licenses as well.
