Conserving the Future Together Annual Review 2016
YOU ARE
Kew Foundation America Kew Foundation America, in partnership with the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, supports worldwide plant research and science, enhancing the quality of life for all. In 2016, KFA marked the importance of its presence in America by changing its name and opening an office in Chicago. In May, the publication of Kew’s first global assessment of plants revealed that an alarming 1/5 of all plant species is at risk of extinction. Going forward, we believe it will be imperative to further involve US individuals and organizations in a global effort to counter the effects on plants of habitat destruction and climate change. With that in mind, we are engaging social entrepreneurs and business leaders, challenging them to think innovatively about sustainable use. We are also joining a global community by aligning our work to the newly published UN Sustainable Development Goals. We invite you to review the highlights of our achievements in the past year. These achievements are really yours, and we thank you for your investment in the work of finding solutions to urgent problems affecting plants and the planet. With best regards,
Alessio di Capua, Executive Director
Isabella Winkler, Vice President
