WELCOME GROUPS!
2018 SEASON April 4 to October 28 Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario Tim Carroll, Artistic Director Tim Jennings, Executive Director
THE SHAW FESTIVAL is one of the world’s great theatre companies, located in one of the most naturally beautiful areas of North America. On the shores of Lake Ontario in historic Niagara-on-theLake, minutes from Niagara Falls and surrounded by an abundance of award-winning wineries, fabulous shopping and farm-to-table restaurants, the Shaw Festival is a favourite of travelers and theatre-lovers and celebrated world-wide.
My second season is a chance to put into practice what I learnt in my first. So, what did I learn? I learnt that: This company has amazing musical performers. Grand Hotel is a blockbuster musical with a bit of everything: passion, crime, laughter, a wonderful score and great dancing. Our audience loves brilliant writing, for young or old. The Magician’s Nephew will bring C.S. Lewis’ legendary world of Narnia to life in a show for all the family.

“If you’re up for a weekend — or a whole week — of first-class theater, you should give very serious thought to going there.”
We all love a bit of pure escapism. Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles marks the return of the murder mystery to The Shaw, in a script that bursts with life and intrigue. We are suckers for romance. Stage Kiss is not just a hilarious backstage comedy, it also has a really beautiful heart. It will light up the Royal George Theatre. And also at the Royal George, a holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, that was made to be performed in this delightful Victorian town. Let’s get together!
– Wall Street Journal We acknowledge and honour the land upon which we gather as the historic and traditional territory of First Nations peoples. In particular we recognize and thank the Neutral Nation, the Mississauga and the Haudenosaunee for their stewardship of these lands over millennia. Comedy. An idealistic 19th century baroness has found her next maid — a feral girl who can barely speak, let alone keep house. Now it’s just a matter of socializing her… right? Part Pygmalion, part wildly original buddy comedy, this heartwarming Canadian play cuts to the core of what it means to be “civilized” — and to be human. Grade 11+ MATURE CONTENT Production Sponsor

Drama. A troop of Canadian soldiers is hunkered down in a dugout during WWI with some copies of Shakespeare’s Henry V for company.
