BLANCO Professional is owned by E.G.O. Blanc and Fischer Group, a company with 7,600 employees and annual revenue of about 925 million Euro in 2012. The company is a member of the Caux Round Table (CRT), a group active worldwide, and by being a member of this group the company is committed to engaging in ethical business principles.


Knowledge is provided transparently and target-oriented throughout the entire company Heinrich Blanc founded the company Blanc & Co in 1925. Primarily, the company manufactured stainless steel products for private and commercial kitchens as well as for medical facilities. In 2007, the B2B business areas active in the capital goods business were combined to form the independent BLANCO CS Group. BLANCO Professional Group’s Four Business Areas: The catering unit manufactures products and complete systems for large, professional kitchen, for example in hotels, canteens, hospitals and schools. Their product portfolio consists of everything from gastronorm containers, heated and refrigeration transport trolleys to server systems and show kitchen stations.

The functional equipment provided by the medical unit of BLANCO ensures a smooth, safe workday in clinics and ambulances thanks to cabinet systems, anesthetic trollies and components of sterile products supply and mobile furnishings for the operating room. The railway unit produces individual stainless steel parts and complete systems for the catering cars in trains, for example, space-saving water storage concepts and completely integrated galleys for high-speed trains. The industrial unit manufactures individually made parts for industry from stainless steel, aluminum and synthetics including built-in airplane washbasins, centrifugal drums for laboratories and automotive parts. Many companies value the high quality parts made with innovative process techniques. At BLANCO, mechanical engineering tasks are created using SolidWorks. With SolidWorks in particular, keytech offers the deepest and broadest support of all functions in comparison to other suppliers. Other CAD systems like CATIA and ProE are also used in parallel; 2D drawings are made using DraftSight. Until now this engineering data has been archived using various systems such as Enterprise PDM from SolidWorks, SAP-DVS or Compass. Due to the different business areas in various locations it has been difficult to maintain an overview and standardization of the company’s data.

These reasons and other requirements led BLANCO to look for a PLM solution. Their goals were among others: • • • • • • •

The company eventually decided on keytech for their solution. The German software supplier of the namesake PLM & DMS software keytech was able to show solutions for all their requirements. An additional advantage is keytech’s extensive know-how in implementing a complex SAP interface. keytech’s multi-CAD capability as well as the integration of existing data from various systems can easily be implemented with keytech. With its modular structure keytech offers additional value in unifying the data structure. The geographical proximity of the company and its competent guidance throughout the process rounded out the overall positive impression BLANCO got of keytech.

In the future keytech will serve as a central company system, together with SAP, to manage all data and to make company know-how available in a transparent and goal-oriented manner.
