The client required a simple layout for each room, focusing more on a comfortable sleeping space rather than a social space. As for the container van modules, we presented three schemes. In the first scheme, the two container vans on the second floor are connected into an L-shape module for practical purposes in terms of plumbing layout. Since the two bathrooms are adjacent to each other, less materials will be used. As for the second scheme, only three container vans were used to allow a more spacious balcony for social events. Scheme 3 is similar to scheme one, but a little bit more spacious in the balcony area. FLOOR PLAN

PROPOSED PERSPECTIVES

Since the site is situated on the beach, we presented a relaxed color scheme for the interior. Essentially, the use of earth colors, with an accent of bluish gray was highlighted. In order to solve the deficiency in space, we proposed the use of multi-purpose furniture such as convertible sofa beds, and a retractable shelf that also functions as table. COLOR SCHEME

2 domingo residence domingo residence The site is located at Everlasting St., Dolores, Tarlac City, Philippines. The existing house was built around five years ago on a budget limit. The client wanted to change only the facade of the house, as well as the roofing. It was also noted that the layout of the house will change. For example, the room located on the left side will become an extended living area raher than an office. While the existing living area, located at the middle, will become a master bedroom. With tha, I was tasked to redesign the facade under those considerations.

Initially, I presented three schemes to the client but after a couple of meetings, we were able to come up with a design that satisfies their needs. For this design, I purposedly emphasized the entry point in order to give a focal point as one enters their property. Windows and openings were also enlarged especially on the living area so that more sunlight could come in. Use of different materials were also highlighted to give depth and contrast to the overall look of the facade. Basically, all openings were replaced. Because of this, I had to provide a detailed schedule of doors and windows, and a shedule of materials.

For the ground floor, most of the existing walls and openings were retained. However, some of the exisitng walls were removed as the rooms and areas were converted for a different use. Structurally, existing columns in the ground level were retained, and new columns were added beside the existing columns. As a result, the new columns will extend from the ground floor to the roof apex. As for the plumbing layout, ground floor layouts will remain, and additional connections will be provided for the second floor. Lastly, for the electrical plan and load, new wiring will be required for the whole house since the lighting and power layouts are all new.

2019-2022 PHILIPPINES

This is the Tim Hortons branch in National University - Mall of Asia (NUMA). As this was designed in 2019, the standards we followed were outdated compared to the new designs of Tim Hortons. The use of red tiles for the counter area was the main standard at the time. However, I took the opportunity to use their graphics such as the canadian goose, coffee process, and the maple leaf as accents of their walls.

EXISTING TH-NUMA BRANCH The image above shows the constructed Tim Hortons branch in NUMA.

PROPOSED PERSPECTIVES

This is the proposed design for the Tim Hortons branch in Cyber Sigma in Taguig City. Designed on the same timeline as Tim Hortons - National University Mall of Asia, the Cyber Sigma branch also followed an outdated design standard. However, we introduced a different approach to showcase the Canadian maple leaf through an LED wall with a metal net fence. This branch is currently under construction and will open soon.

This is the proposed design for the Tim Hortons branch in Pacific Icon building in Manila City. The site is located near universities such as the University of Santo Thomas, Far Eastern University, etc. With that, the expected type of consumers are mostly university students. Therefore, I designed this three-storey cafe with a light color scheme with splashes of colors using the new Tim Hortons artworks, as well as introducing new design concepts such as the wallpaper maple leaf, new lighting fixtues, and more community tables for group study

7 MARANAO ARTIST VILLAGE Conceptual Project Category: Village Design Location: Marawi, Philippines The Maranao Artist Village is envisioned as a single torogan that can be accessible to both the Maranao and non-Maranao community while providing avenues for reintegration to modern society, and avenues for the exhibition of traditional values, practices, arts, and products.

7 maranaomaranao artist artist vill village SITE DEVELOPMENT PLAN The site is located near the foot of a mountain. The coverage of the site stretches both vertical and horizontal as it exhibits a steep slope and sudden changes in contours. Generous amount of air enter through the Northeast whereas air from the Southwest is controlled by trees and mountain forms. In terms of sun path, natural light is generally present in the site and is regulated by the blockade of trees and mountain forms. This allows for the control and maximization of sunlight within the site.

7 maranaomaranao artist artist vill village The form of the houses came from the concept of the traditional torogan roof. High ceiling plans are used to allow a smooth ventilation inside the houses, and the use of traditional materials for exterior finishes are observed to connect with the existing traditional Filipino architecture around the site. Although the design tries to embrace the traditional concepts of the Maranao architecture, a play of form has been executed in order to challenge the typical aesthetic of the torogan without compromising the Maranao culture and tradition. Lastly, the interior of the houses attempts to be a modern version of the traditional interior of the torogan, focusing more on privacy, security, purpose, and aesthetic
