OVERVIEW
We are creating a collection of portraits of individuals who have contributed in a significant way to our culture. These individuals may come from any walk of life, and their contribution is not tied to a genre. The objective is to honor people who have achieved greatness in their field of expertise. From heads of state to artists, from scientists to religious leaders, we are looking for the best of the best to create a collection of compelling portraits that has not been done in this century.

Master Photographer Yousuf Karsh documented many world leaders and significant individuals in his day, and those portraits have stood the test of time. Kevin G Saunders’ photographic voice is similar, using traditional portraiture, classic lighting, and the techniques and execution that bring out the visual story of the individual — we want to capture the person, not their profession. Our main goal is to create an image that is beautiful, timeless and compelling, and will be appreciated forever.

We use digital versions of the classic view cameras that the masters from Ansel Adams to Yousuf Karsh and George Hurrell made famous. In place of film we use an 80-megapixel sensor that allows us to capture all the detail needed for a fine art portrait up to 48�x72�. The lighting in our studio is taken straight from the movie lot, with vintage Fresnel lights that produce a quality of light that cannot be achieved with modern flash photography. We keep such a well-equipped collection so that we can use lighting to enhance the story that the portrait tells. Our technique of making a portrait at this level is sophisticated, yet simple: instead of taking hundreds of images, we slow down and work with the subject while under the lights to develop an emotional tone for the photograph. This process keeps the subject focused on his or her thoughts, and allows Kevin to adjust lights and find the best angles without excessive posing. We strive to create an environment that is safe and private so the subject can assume their role with confidence and play an active part in creating their portrait.

Our studio is located in the Blue Star Arts Complex in the quiet neighborhood of Southtown, San Antonio, also the premiere arts district in the city. We are conveniently located one mile south of Downtown, 15 minutes from the San Antonio International Airport and 10 minutes away from Stinson Field. We have our own private entrance with direct access. Parking is protected, exclusive and available right next to the studio. We will be happy to provide or arrange transportation for you. Our studio also has a full hair and makeup team and facilities on-site, and we can work with your team to get the right look.

You are under no obligation to buy a print, although a “no strings attached� offering will be presented. Images are shown on the computer in real time, so they can be instantly approved. We will have a model release that allows us to use approved images on our website and social media. We will send approved images to you to post on your social media, with a watermark and copyright registration with the Library of Congress so we can monitor possible image theft. We will NOT sell digital images without consent. If an opportunity to sell an image is discovered, we will discuss it with you and arranged a 50/50 split of revenues. We will have instructions for managers regarding the number of VIP support people who can be present, details about private parking access, etc. Please contact us with any questions about our privacy policy or any further accommodations you may require.
