This study is based on organic material and its exploration in the field of textiles which is used as inspiration for thesis topic. The research aims to focus on creating new possibilities with corn byproducts as textile material. Corn byproducts include corn husk stalks, cob and corn hair. The research conducted is combination of both qualitative and quantitative methods. The quantitative data is collected by primary means which includes field research, visual research and interviews that is conducted in orders to collect data about the availability of raw material and potential of materials. Corn fiber and its extraction methods are thoroughly reviewed as part of secondary research. Research on ecofriendly methods and products is also studied and documented. Studying the composition and structure of corn husk defined two directions for project in term of textiles which includes fiber extraction to yarn making and exploring variety of methods and techniques to achieve different and diverse surface qualities.
