With the rise of motor vehicles, the streets are becoming oover crowded. Here majority of the buildings and the streets were not designed to deal with the level of traffic flow and amount of usage it currently receives, as more modes of transport are being introduced to the streets. Besides, they were not even built taking car parking into consideration. Over the years, there has been tremendous growth in vehicular Lackownership.ofspace made one force to park the cars aalong the road on the mercy of harsh sun, rains and dust. The streets in themselves haven’t grown, as a result, there is a larger amount of people battling to use the streets for driving and parking purpose and sadly ppeople fatalit es have occurred.

Aims to develop an understanding of locality as a complex system and respond to urban challenges found especially in the rapidly increasing Incities.order to revive the water body to its entirety, design is focused on making a self configurable SPACE that can be altered with the need of the hour.

INTO THE LAKE-BED 13

Understanding these problems, this design proposes conversion of the old, abandoned lake into a multi usable space for the public to use at large. The plan moves in this manner Firstly, the water from the lake would be removed and the surface would be allowed to dry for some days. Adaptive reuse of the existing structure without demolishing its structural elements i.e. all the pre existing elements of the lake, like stairs , littoral slope, water drainage system are maintained and no land excavation done throughout the renovation process. Then the surface would be cleaned and levelled. With waterproofing, painting and reviving the existing slope into a parking ramp the renovation would be completed.
