1.4 SCOPE AND LIMITATION

In particular, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) housing structure is the subject of this study's examination of the efficiency of progressive housing as a remedy for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the context of the neighborhood. The approach entails analyzing design approaches, procedures for execution, and socioeconomic effects of additional housing in SRA programs using arbitrarily selected case studies. Strategic sampling will also be used to highlight successful cases and show how progressive housing helps society at large.

A thorough grasp of the specific use of progressive housing for EWS communities may be gained from the randomly picked case studies underneath the local SRA housing environment. The purpose of the study is to learn more about the benefits and difficulties of adopting progressive housing underneath the SRA paradigm.

Strategic sampling is also included since it enables the selection of numerous case studies that represent different global settings, allowing for the assessment of the larger advantages and universal applicability of progressive housing for EWS groups.

However, it's critical to recognize this research strategy's constraints. The efficiency of progressive housing can vary based on social, economic, and geographical characteristics, hence the conclusions may not be fully generalizable outside of the specific local environment. The incorporation of all possible permutations of progressive housing developments within the regional environment may also be constrained by resource and time restrictions which could have an impact on the research's thoroughness.

Additionally, relying heavily upon site visits establishes subjectivity and possible biases in the gathering and analysis of data. These prejudicial assumptions will be reduced by the use of strict data analysis techniques and the involvement of many researchers to guarantee reliability.

This study is necessary because Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) have severe difficulties finding suitable housing. The need to look at sustainable solutions, such as incremental housing, is urgent given the housing scarcity and the presence of informal and unauthorized settlements. This study can improve the standard lifestyles for EWS communities and address social and economical inequalities by addressing the demand for cheap and feasible housing alternatives for those communities.

It is essential to comprehend the progressive housing solution's efficiency within the particular local environment. By performing randomly selected research investigations and site visits, this study seeks to address the knowledge gap that currently exists by offering insightful information on design tactics, community involvement, socioeconomic implications, and long-term viability. Policymakers, construction professionals, and urban planners can use these findings to build efficient methods and policies to meet the housing demands of EWS populations. The necessity for the study will eventually be determined by its potential to improve the lives of EWS people, promote participatory urban development, and lead the road for equitable cities.
