KIARA DAVIS

Hello... Originally from the Midwest, I chose to go to Iowa State University for their outstanding design program. From a young age I was always expressing my creativity and love for design and art. I knew this was what I loved doing. I am currently a Senior at Iowa State University pursuing my degree in Interior Design. I will graduate May of 2017 with a BFA in Interior Design. I desire to be part of something great. I hope to continue to learn new skills and grow as a designer. To me, design allows us the ability to really enhance others lives, and I wish to do just that.

CULTURAL RESEARCH When deciding on a historical style for the residence we addressed our primary client’s cultural background and preferences, and focused on Ancient Greek and Roman architecture, forms and motifs. We used our knowledge of Greek and Roman history and integrated our current research in deciding which aspects would best reflect our design.
CULTURAL AND AESTHETIC PRECEDENTS Inspiration: Ancient Greek and Roman coffered ceilings. Roman Tuscan columns. The Pantheon’s domed ceiling. Greek and Roman marble. Hadrian’s Villa Tivoli, Rome
