This collage represents the hopes and aspirations of migrants seeking a better future. The sky and the city, rendered in more vibrant tones than the rest, symbolize the objectives these individuals strive to achieve, reflecting their pursuit of new opportunities in the urban environment.
The distribution of each area adheres to the parameters established by the Ministry of Culture. Accordingly, the spaces are organized based on the functions performed in each workshop and classroom. The objective is to ensure better pedestrian flow and easy accessibility. Additionally, unnecessary elements that do not add value have been removed.
To enhance the functionality of CETPRO Salesiano, new spaces will be created to maintain the existing typology and improve current facilities. New environments will be added to enhance the educational quality and experience for both students and staff working within the facility. Additionally, a new distribution for the rear courtyard is proposed, ensuring it does not compromise the architectural value.
The proposal envisions spaces that are visually appealing and function effectively as classroom-workshops. This includes ensuring good lighting, ventilation, and appropriate acoustic comfort. Additionally, it involves reorganizing the main areas, such as workshops, for better functionality. A few patrimony elements will be preserved, while other architectural features will be modernized. The goal is to provide an enhanced experience during training sessions.
The significance of this building lies in preserving its existing state, considering its typology and potential future uses as a heritage site. Therefore, the proposal includes double-height spaces, subspaces, and movable and superimposed elements to accommodate some functions.
Some original architectural coatings such as wood and polished cement are being maintained. The aim is to preserve its heritage value and enhance its importance.
Colonial elements are maintained, materials that are in harmony with the building and colors that are appealing to young people.
