THE LOST WORLD
Oceanarium & Water Adventure
The Lost World, was the final year Thesis project. The attempt was to Design an Oceanarium along with Water Adventure and Futuristic Attractions. The idea was to merge Education and Entertainment together with no age restriction.
It was Design on a live site in Mahabalipuran, where the state government has proposed to design an Oceanarium in a 16 Acre plot near to Mahabalipuram beach.
01
DESIGN CONCEPT
The water which fills the ocean up, starts its voyage from the lofty mountains, meandering through valleys, forests, and plains, before eventually merging into the vast expanse of the ocean along the coastal regions. With a similar perspective in mind, the design idea was to guide the visitors on a parallel expedition. Just as water embarks on a captivating journey from mountains to ocean, the design was havestrived to offer an immersive experience that takes guests through a captivating voyage, enabling them to explore and appreciate the wonders of the aquatic world.

The central block connects both the building blocks with running 2.5m corridor acting as a internal balcony, which also ease the ciculation inside the Hospital. Large full height Glasses allows ample amount of sunlight to enter inside to luminate the central block and corridor. There are total 5 saircases for fire emergency, each department is attached to a staircase thus incase of fire they can easily access that without running along the building.

DIAMOND SQUARE
MODERN STYLE + COLLONIAL STYLE
The main Intend behind the design was to club Modern Architecture and the traditional Collonial Style of Architecture. The Site given is located at DalHousie, Kolkata. All the adjacent buildings are Collonial and designed by British Architect. Thus Creating a Link Between Modern and Classical Architecture without Dis-respecting the surrounding the design evolve in this way that the entrance of the site has collonial entrance while the inside environment is modern, thus the user experience a transition effect while moving inside the complex.
The Office Building is totally modern with full height glass facade and few exposed circular columns with the play of mass and void. The Demand for Parking was huge thus the double basement car parking facility has been designed which can accomodate more than 650 cars.
The Central Plaza has a Semi Permeable Shell Structure which acts as a shaded connection between the Parking block and Mall block. It also gives a shade to the site which encourage people to roam outside even when there is a bright sun. It is also designed for Seasonal Exhbition and events to go along , without hindering Mall's environment.
