Focus on Kicker Advertisers and Supporters

This month we focus on Scotch Creek Market. Brooke and Linda Kynoch purchased the former SuperValu location 2 ½ years ago, and have continued to provide a large selection of grocery products at the North Shuswap locale. The Kynoch’s have lived and worked in the Shuswap for 30 years and love being a part of the community. Brooke and Linda Kynoch are pleased to have the opportunity to shine the spotlight on their wonderful staff.

Almost 100% of the staff at Scotch Creek Market are residents of the North Shuswap. Many have worked at the location for years, having been employed by the previous owners, and given the chance, and have stayed on as part of the Market staff. Together, their years of service total 215 plus. Some on staff are second generation employees, who grew up shopping with their parents in the former Lucky Dollar and SuperValu locations.

With so many staff who are members of the community, patrons always encounter at least one familiar face. When you walk through the door, you are greeted not just with a smile, but with a “Hi! How are you?” They make shopping a social experience, something that is extra important during what has been an isolating couple of years! Visitors to the area are not left out either. The friendly, family atmosphere extends to all who enter the store. Relationships build easily and seasonal residents and return guests are often recognized and welcomed as old friends.

Brooke and Linda want to thank their amazing staff for the great job they do. From the grocery store to the gas station, to maintenance, everyone works together to provide a service to customers, allowing them to meet their needs without travelling too far from home. No one is ever too busy to say hi, direct patrons to specific items or answer questions. They are happy to make personal recommendations about in-store products, based on things they and their families have enjoyed or found useful.

Scotch Creek Market staff, this is a well-deserved pat on the back! Thanks for all you do!
