Killarney Golf & Fishing Club is one of Ireland’s best known historical parkland golf courses situated in the heart of the Killarney National Park. Established in 1893, this famous Kerry golf club is beloved amongst its members, Irish golfers as well as golfers from around the world. Renowned for its two 18-hole championship courses, Killeen and Mahony ’s Point and the club’s prestigious history makes it a “ must play” for every golfer visiting Killarney.

Kileen

The Killeen course is a challenging 7,250 yards, par 72 golf course which has hosted the Irish Open four times. It’s signature hole the 10th has the grand Lough Leane as a backdrop. A beautiful and challenging par 3, with a tempting island green enticing the golfer to making a daring swing for the pin, while avoiding the water hazard to the front.

Mahony’s Point

Mahony ’s Point is the club’s oldest course. Designed by Sir Guy Campbell, one of the “three majors” , the quintessential Scottish golf architects that brought golf course design to the parklands, the course first opened in 1939. Mahony ’s Point is 6,780 yards, par 72 golf course that offers spectacular views of the famous Killarney lakes overlooked by the McGillycuddy Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland. The final three holes are breathtaking as you play towards the lake. The magnificent 18th hole, a par 3 of nearly 200 yards that requires a huge carry across the corner of the lake, has been described as “ one of the most memorable holes in golf” .

Bar & Restaurant

In early 2020, the golf club launched its new Truffle Honey restaurant, which caters to golfers and visitors 7 days a week throughout the summer. Chef, Mike Hayes who heads up the Truffle Honey team, has worked in some of the best restaurants in Ireland and internationally. The restaurant boasts ample dining areas, as well as an outdoor dining terrace, offering some of the best views in Killarney. The Truffle Honey restaurant offers an appetizing and varied breakfast, lunch and dinner options that are prepared fresh daily.
