SHOW'N OFF IN

For 12 years now, Elvis Barbieri has been staging the Showcars Melbourne event at the fabulous Moonee Valley Racecourse. 2023 was by all accounts, the best yet!

Elvis does things a little differently with his event – especially having a large portion of the showcars setup indoors, where he has Saturday as the setup day, and Sunday is when the public come in droves to check out all the glitz and glamour that he has assembled inside and outside of the buildings. Amongst the usual line ups of Aussie and US muscle cars, customs, Rods and highpowered street cars were a number of high end Show cars and a couple of new, unveiled rides as well. One of the new cars on show for the first time was Rob & Anita Dickson’s oh-so-cool ’52 Ford Cab Over. Showcasing a stunning coat of Verde Schietto (we’ll call it pearl olive green) and rolling on smoothie rims, the all-Ford powered COE also sported one of the most talked about interiors at the show – the work of which was completed by Shannon’s Auto Upholstery. There’s quite a few COE is Australia now, but most seem to be based on the ’47 style Chev, which makes this one standout even more!
