One of the greatest threats to the U.S. homeland occurred during the early 1960s when the Soviet Union began a strong alliance with Cuba creating a direct nuclear threat to the U.S. that would not allow for any advanced warning. Examine the Bay of Pigs catastrophe from an intelligence standpoint and answer the following questions. a. What was the Bay of Pigs and why did the U.S. try to conduct this attack? 2. What intelligence led to this invasion attempt? 3. What intelligence failures were made which resulted in the failure of the invasion? 4. What impact did the Bay of Pigs have on the U.S. intelligence community? What changes were made? Does this failure still affect how the U.S. conducts intelligence in modern day? The paper must be two to three pages in length and formatted according to APA style. You must use at least two scholarly resources other than the textbook to support your claims and subclaims.
