DEAR FRIENDS, With 2014 well under way, we are excited to present a strong lineup of shows this year, beginning with our winter/spring shows in both our Scottsdale and Jackson Hole locations. If your plans include a visit to Scottsdale to soak up the warm winter sun or to Jackson to hit the ski slopes, we hope you can stop by for a visit. In February we debut a new show which we are calling Urban Nature. We thought it would be an interesting concept for a show that features a little bit of pure landscape work as well as imagery that incorporates architectural design. The end result is a collection of fresh paintings that take us from the calm of an Iowa pasture and the charm of an English village, to the hustle and bustle of a New York City skyline and many more interesting settings in between. We have eleven of our artists participating in the show, and each has brought a unique perspective in terms of both content and stylistic approaches. Andrew Peters, Tranquil Summer Evening, 30 x 40 inches, Oil, $18,000

We are also very pleased to showcase a small group of paintings by Elizabeth Brandon, a Nashville, TN based artist dedicated to practicing the Old Master principles of capturing light and atmosphere on her canvases. Elizabeth’s work became widely known after she was signed on by Cooks Magazine to do the cover art. Her colorful paintings of seasonal fruits and vegetables graced the covers of the venerable bi-monthly publication from 2000-2007 and in that time, led to a 10% subscription increase, The Scottsdale gallery is also featuring a charming new collection of figurative works by Albin Veselka. While much of his work is deeply rooted in his Eastern European background, and is somewhat period specific or narrative, his rural surrounds in Idaho and a loving family are most often the focus of his paintings. Home base in Idaho provides much of the rural elements in his paintings and his own family.

Albin Veselka, Cider Press, 21 x 24 inches, Oil, $3,700

Our good friends Robert Duncan and Robert Moore have each just finished an outstanding group of easel paintings that we are featuring at the Jackson gallery. In the last few years, we have seen Robert Duncan find a renewed excitement in once again painting the traditional, western subjects that first brought him to prominence in the world of western art and which made him a multiple award-winning member of the Cowboy Artists of America. Robert Moore continues to cultivate his gifts, style, and work ethic as an eminent impressionistic oil painter. His use of vivid colors and frequent high-keyed values reveal a spiritually inspired joy. We hope you enjoy reviewing our current newsletter, and as a reminder, you can always see these artists and many more by visiting our website. Be sure to like us on Facebook! Please contact us if we can be of any assistance in advising you on buying or selling works either through our gallery or our partner entity, the Jackson Hole Art Auction which we host every September. Wishing you all the best in this New Year! Maryvonne Leshe, Managing Partner

An aspiring artist from an early age, it was Robert Duncan’s childhood summers on his grandfather’s ten thousand acre Wyoming cattle ranch that would deeply instill in him a love of nature and rural life that continues to be the central focus of his life and art today. Duncan’s career began to flourish in the early 1980’s after he was juried into the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America organization. From early on, his subject matter focused on the daily existence on Native Americans, specifically the Ute, Crow and Blackfeet, and their interaction with the environment and nature. After leaving the CA organization, Robert immersed himself in painting family, friends and the beautiful countryside of his home base in the Heber Valley of Utah. Through his paintings, Robert is able to show the viewer the similarity he sees in the lives of farmers and ranch people who share the same common bond as the Native Americans with the environment and Mother Nature.
