EXCELLENCE IN ART SINCE 1963
As we go to press with our latest gallery newsletter, we are gearing up for the annual Fall Arts Festival in Jackson, Wyoming which this year, takes place September 1420. This week long event brings in a plethora of artists, collectors and art enthusiasts who come to partake in a week of cultural and art related events. Every September, the gallery presents a series of shows devoted to wildlife, sporting art, and all things related to our natural world. This year is certainly no exception as we host a major one-man show for Montana wildlife artist Kyle Sims. For this important event, aptly titled “THEIR WORLD,” Sims has created a large collection of new studio paintings with subjects ranging from elk, bears, cougars, and bison to inquisitive bobcats and playful otters. Painting with a sense of immediacy, Sims brings the viewer into the wild with his finely depicted scenery and the natural realism with which he depicts Kyle Sims, A Meeting of Heavyweights, 54 x 80 inches, Oil, $45,000 North America’s most magnificent animals. Kyle Sims will be present during our artist reception on September 19. All works will be sold by fixed price draw during the reception. The gallery will also present “FROM THE WILD,” a special showcase of new works by acclaimed Dutch wildlife painter Renso Tamse. The overriding passion of this urban artist is to capture the mystical resonances of nature in the wild. In the composition of his paintings, accurate draftsmanship is paramount in the representation of the animals, coupled with infusing the work with life and soul. This new collection of watercolor works from Tamse will include animal species from around the world including African Elephants, Siberian Tigers as well as North American mammals. Colorado based sculptor James G. Moore has recently joined the gallery. James is recognized for his beautifully sculpted bells that evoke imagery focused on wildlife and nature. As an example, “Serengeti Song” depicts a pride of lions as well as antelope on the open plains. The sweeping curve of the stand represents the tall grasses of the plains. The 9th annual Jackson Hole Art Auction will feature two sessions this year. The Session I sale will be held on the upper level of the gallery and will begin at 12:00 PM MST on Friday, September 18. This session will feature high quality works with a price point perfectly suited for the emerging collector. Session II sale will be held at 12:00 PM MST on Saturday, September 19 at the award-winning Center for the Arts venue. Both sessions will be led by auctioneer Jason Brooks. We look forward to having you visit the gallery during this busy week. You can also visit our website where you can view all new works featured in the Fall Gold show.
