What to wear? Styling Guide

When should I select my outfit? • Once you know the location and the season for your session you can start preparing the clothing you will be using for your session • This way you ensure that in case you need to buy clothes online, they will be here on time • Also, it Will help you relieve the stress of selecting the clothes the day before your session

How should I select my outfit? • Usually moms and dads have no idea on what to wear • I recommend you start the clothing selection from the adults • This way, you ensure that adults have their outfit ready before selecting the outfits for the kids • The selection of your clothes should flatter your body type a one of the most important things is that you feel comfortable during the session

What should I take into account when selecting my outfit? • Season (spring, fall, etc.) • Theme (modern, classic, etc.) • Location (garden, beach, etc.)

How to coordinate all the outfits? • It is best to use coordinating colors, not the same colors • Although using the same color for all the outfits looks good on camera, having different coordinating colors adds more depth to your images

How to coordinate all the outfits? • Complimentary colors • Split-complementary colors • Monochromatic colors • Triadic colors • Analogous colors • Tetradic colors

Complimentary colors • Colors that are directly opposite in the color wheel • A straight line is formed between 2 colors

Split-complimentary colors • A base color and two colors that are next to the complimentary color • An acute triangle is formed between the three colors

Monochromatic colors • Varying tones of the same color

Triadic colors • Three colors that are at 120 degrees from each other • A triangle is formed between all three colors

Analogous colors • Color that are one next to the other • A straight line is formed between all three colors

Tetradic colors • Two sets of complimentary colors • A rectangle is formed between all four colors

What else to take into account when selecting an outfit? • It is always good to combine colors, patterns and textures to give more depth to your images • However, I don’t recommend using distracting patterns or clothes with visible/distracting logos
