Woman on a Mission Women on a Mission are women who exemplify giving and helping in our community through fundraising, non-profit, and/or philanthropic work for the betterment of women and/or families in the Central Valley

Leng Power Title(s): Program Manager, Documentarian, & Community Advocate Organization(s): Disability Resource Agency For Independent Living, Modesto Peace/Life Center, Khmer Youth of Modesto (KYOM)

Disability Resource Agency for Independent Living

Q. What do you enjoy most about your profession and why did you choose it in the first place? What was the inspiration for your organization / project? The best part about what I do is the people I meet who inspire me. Whether it is by the sheer tenacity in which a person with a disability forges through a difficult life situation or if it is a person who lives on the fringe of society but refuses to give up hope for a better future, they are incredibly inspiring individuals. My current position both professionally and personally is a culmination of life working in mysteriously beautiful ways. By academic training, I was a communications studies major with an emphasis on political science. I thought I would do something in journalism. The first job I secured out of college was with a non-profit organization and from there I joined another, and 13 years later, the work of positively influencing our society by helping those in the most urgent need, is what I know and all I can see myself doing. The inspiration for my work in my various capacities comes from the belief that more can be done so that we as a society can be better. Q. Tell us about any new projects you are working on.

I am currently working with the Modesto Peace Life Center on an effort to coordinate community volunteers to assist homeless individuals to secure proper identification so that they may access services. We are looking at a couple of models of programs elsewhere in the country that have worked really well. I am also working on a documentary that examines homelessness in

Modesto, specifically to put faces and stories to this “invisible population and to look at ways the community can be a part of the solution.

Q. What is a typical day like for you? I think this is such a fun question because each day brings so much opportunity and hardly ever looks the same to be considered typical. I am a single parent to two amazing daughters. Emmy is a freshman in the IB program and Modesto High School and Dahlia is a 4 th grader, excelling at Hart Ransom Elementary School. We keep each other busy. There are some nights where we are going from one activity or event to another. It is not uncommon for the girls to accompany me to evening board meetings or fundraising events. I think it is important to expose them to civic engagement opportunities so they understand what community feels and looks like. Q. Tell us about your community involvement – what you are passionate about outside of work and home and why/how you participate? I am an active member of various groups here in Modesto. I belong to the Modesto Cambodian Buddhist Society and have served to coordinate their grant activities. I am a board member of the Modesto Peace Life Center who works to promote Peace and Social Justice. I am President of

Leng Power Q. What is the biggest risk you ever took professionally and/or the biggest obstacle you have overcome? The biggest risk was asking to sit at the table which means to shift my perspective into believing that my thoughts mattered and I was significant enough to make an impact. Progress whether personal, professional or community wide is hardly ever done in broad strokes. It is a series of small steps. So having the will and courage each day to get up, be grateful and having the opportunity to tend to the important work.

Q. From where do you draw inspiration? Who have been your role models, mentors, etc? My parents have always served to inspire me. My family came to the US as refugees of the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia in the early 80’s. My mother and father came to this country not speaking the language or understanding the culture and had the responsibility of raising a family. All five of my siblings, including myself are college graduates and working professionals who enjoy giving back to our communities. My daughters inspire me with their resiliency as we are figuring this journey out together. Q. What do you do to keep yourself sharp? What one thing have you done in the past year that has made a significant difference in your life/your mission? I have a handful of thought partners who hold me accountable to the goals I set and the help me contextualize ideas. We share reading material and resources we come across. I am a class five fellow of the American Leadership ForumGreat Valley Chapter which has been instrumental in allowing me to learn about myself and my leadership stance. I have developed a personal motto which helps me stay grounded and prioritize the things that my energy needs to be expended on. ‘Embrace Everything. Hold Nothing. Live Free’

I would also love to learn woodworking. I work a lot with my mind and I would enjoy the pleasure of building a tangible object. Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? The unfolding of five years will hopefully bring us all closer to economic, social and environmental justice and sustainability. If not, that's where my efforts will still be. I also hope to have completed the homeless documentary project. Q. What do you do for fun, relaxation, or entertainment? I enjoy time to toil in my mind whether it is reading, writing or meditation. I enjoy time with my daughters. In the spring and summer, I find solace in tending to my small garden. Q. Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers? I would encourage everyone to stand on the balcony of our lives periodically. This means to take a step back and survey the layout of our lives from a vantage point that can provide us with an interesting perspective. When we are in the thicket, day in and day out, we may not see everything. When we intentionally look at things differently, we may find beauty and curiosity.

8. What one thing would you like to learn this year? I am hoping to complete an eight week course on cultivating peace. I would like to use the material to implement into my advocacy work.

Your Beauty Calling Card, What does it Say? As a Christian girl, I was taught to love everyone and we are all God’s children. In Middles school I quickly realized how the world view is on equality of love or respect based on physical judgements. It was a harsh reality and concerned me greatly. It was difficult to realize that judgments were not just about race, social status, or physical looks, etc. People who are different are judged because they do not look like us or act like us, or we are judged because we do not look like others. I was encouraged to go to Beauty School when I was in high school and was excited to head into the beauty industry. Here, I could gain skills to express everyone’s individual sense of style through hair and makeup, leveling the playing field and realizing the potential of everyone. It all seemed the perfect medium for me. I was excited, and then found injustice once again in beauty school and how we were instructed to place value on others physical beauty. Foiled again! I decided that I could have an impact with my skills and decided that the best way to help would be to see the beauty behind the makeup and understand the application girls chose to wear and why. There would be the window to the soul of every woman and where we can find the inner strength raging to be expressed and not judged! I began to really listen to these young ladies. I quickly realized that every girl does not feel her true self worth. I have been told stories from girls who were told they were ugly and could not shake it. It bothered me that I could see their beauty but they could not.

I asked the girls what they thought of other girls based on different application styles. If they wore a lot of makeup, what did they think of girls who didn’t and vice versa. The first of my observations were easy. Girls who wear a lot of makeup think natural girls look too plain. Girls who don’t wear much makeup think girls who wear a lot look like clowns or wearing masks.

and thorough in her thoughts and actions. A steady friend. Just for Fun girl Loves color and having fun…but she is carefree. She can wear a little if in a hurry or tak e hours to get ready for that special occasion. She loves to play with mak eup and try new look s. She can go with or without it. These girls just wanna have fun! Just for Fun Girls are luck y and I have seen many of these girls in beauty schools. They k now who they are and what they want. They just want to enjoy the adventure.

The lesson here, “We don’t all see the same thing when we look at different applications.” I did however begin to see noticeable similarities in personality based on the application, or “look” that was being applied.

I believe that the looks tell a story…if only we would care to learn the story instead of judge based on look we would find so much more.

The Diva: loves every k ind of mak eup and can not get enough. She wears bright colors and heavy foundation. She does not want to go without her mak eup. She is not loyal to one brand. She is outgoing and head strong. She is willing to try new things, but will not push if not won over on the idea.

If one will observe these looks or makeup personalities, you would see deeper and learn why they are the Diva, the Natural girl, Miss Impeccable or Just for fun girl. What if instead of judging someone who does not wear the same style as you, but embrace them and get to know them, we found a new trusted, or vivacious friend. I have many friends with completely different makeup personalities. I love them all and they are all beautiful. Art is art and each person has their own style of art. We may not like every style and we may not choose it, but we can appreciate it.

The Natural: She wears very little if any. She might enjoy lip gloss and mascara and maybe a little blush. It does not bother her to go without any mak eup at all. The Natural does not mind what people think about her at all. She is confident. Ms. Impeccable: She is always look ing in the mirror to see if her mak eup is perfect or if it needs refreshing. She may choose soft look s for day and glamour look s for night. She loves mak eup but more importantly it has to be perfection! It’s about the look ! She needs her mak eup! She is detail-oriented

Beauty really does begin from within….It begins in the HEART. Share your heart and when you get to know a girl’s heart, you will see their true beauty.

Ronica Garcia Most importantly I am a daughter of God first, wife and mom! I have held many jobs during my life, but my passion has always been working with people. Direct Sales and the Beauty Industry has been a dream come true for me. It has allowed me to travel the world for free. I have met amazing and wonderful friends! I have loved to coach and mentor women and still do. I have also been a Bible Teacher /Leader/Founder for Single Mom’s Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Awana Leader, Church Leader, Youth Leader and Teen Center Co-Coordinator. I have been a trainer for both companies I have worked with for the past 30+ years. I enjoy speaking at beauty schools to share my mission and message for God and help girls by offering classes for skin care, makeup, and business. I have had some amazing mentors in my life and want to pass on what was given to me. My Team mission statement is to stand against indifference, to care about every girl and woman and help her. This is for God and is my mission and ministry every day. It is a great feeling when someone makes a difference in your life, but there is no greater feeling to me than when I make a difference in someone’s life. 707-689-6434 (text preferred first or leave a message please)

Hearts for the Arts Ariel L. Hicks has been acting since she was seven and loves every part of the craft. She has performed in front of the camera, on stage, and behind the microphone. When asked what her favorite medium is, she responded joyfully that she loves it all. “I love the rush of jumping into a costume and make up and seeing the character I’ve worked on become real.” Ariel is a true actor and enjoys performing and advising others. When asked what her most impactful role is in her opinion, she did not hesitate in her answer, “Sam the bully in the 2011-2012 tour of The Boy Who Cried Bully.” The purpose of the tour was about equipping young people to stand up to bullying, which Ariel feels grateful to have been casted for. Ariel explains, “I am SO grateful God placed me in that role. I even got to see some campers from Royal Family Kids’, a week long camp for foster kids I volunteered for. It was so wonderful to see these youngsters hungry for a chance to stay safe and to help others.” Helping and working with our youth are an important aspect of Ariel’s life. She works with Gary Rohwer of Aspire Vanguard College Preparatory Academy to bring classical theatre to life with students from 6th to 8th grades. Miss Hicks explains, “The students spend time really digging into the text to find the meaning and the comedy, really classical theatre is timeless and it gives the students much more sturdy literary roots, though it may seem like a different language when you’re introduced to the script, do your homework and it pays off. There’s something about theatre that bonds people together, maybe it’s the team spirit, and we all know the time will come when we give the show we’ve

Ariel Hicks rehearsed to an audience. A creative artist, I don’t shy away from Shakespeare or improvisation.” Additionally, Ariel volunteers regularly at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club haunted museum as “Eleanor the ghost girl.” Her first year the organizers said here’s a costume and some props... Ariel recalls, “That was it. Not even a name.” The next year back they had a write up for the tour guides and they called it “Eleanors’ Room.” Eleanor, the ghost girl is the first character visitors meet and Ariel enjoys her “stand up” as Eleanor with her doll “Rigby” grabbing details from the visitors and running with it, “It made me smile to find out that the work I did stuck out in their minds. I have to give a wee bit of credit for the Beatles on the two names! It has defiantly sharpened my skills.” Ariel shares. After receiving an A.A. in Radio Broadcasting (and another A.A. in Theatre Arts) she began voice over work and loved it! She shares, “One time I auditioned in my P.J.’s over the phone!” We asked, how did you prepare yourself for these positions? Hicks responded, “I grew up watching reruns of Monty Python, M*A*S*H, and Beverly Hillbillies so performing accents and dialects come easy for me! It even scored me additional roles in shows I’ve been a part of. I want to entertain as well as educate the public. Whether it’s to let them know about a new product or business or even a bit of history that needs to be told. I am happy to get the word out and the voices I do find a place in worlds that are created.”

WOMAN OF THE MONTH

DEENA

ELLIOTT

Deena says, "Please don't suffer in pride, shame, and/or guilt - help is available for nearly all situations in life.” Deena’s favorite quote and verse: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39 NIV)

Deena Elliott is a long time champion of community resources and women in business. She loves meeting new people, networking, and is passionate about volunteering. Along with her husband, Joe, Deena uses her time, talent, voice, enthusiasm, and resources to help others. She says, “We married later in life so we don’t have kids, but I joke around that the nonprofits are our kids –my babies!" Her greatest desire is to let women know there’s help available. It can be any kind of need: food, clothing, housing, furniture, employment, financial planning, education, disabilities, business advice, career resources, spiritual direction, cancer, mental health or another medical diagnosis, car trouble, parenting, physical abuse, care-giving, hospice, and many more outreach causes. One of her favorite bible verses is, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39 NIV). Deena says, "Please don't suffer in pride, shame, and/or guilt help is available for nearly all situations in life.” She knows life can be challenging, she's had a few of her own, but by

learning about what's available, it's helped her to overcome the difficult times. Deena recently began her business, Deena Elliott Design and joined Uppercase Living as a new Independent Demonstrator. She holds a BA degree in Industrial Arts from San Francisco State University (SFSU). She was instrumental in the growth and outreach activities of the academic honor society chapter Epsilon Pi Tau at SFSU from 19952003 where she earned many awards and she continues her membership in academic endeavors. Deena is an active member at her church as a greeter and recently joined Toastmasters, International, Winning with Words Chapter in Modesto. Looking ahead in 2015, she's very hopeful and says, “I believe this is going to be a fantastic year. Many organizations can use volunteers on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The rewards of being a servant in our community are unending. It's like watching a planted seed unfold to become a beautiful tulip... seeing a disabled child smile and play for the first time or hearing someone pray –it melts my heart.”

WOMEN IN SERVICE Jenny Kenoyer fighting for the homeless of Modesto

Modesto's unsheltered will be receiving a daytime resource center. Modesto City Council member Jenny Kenoyer is the oldest council member elected, because she wants to make Modesto a better place to live, and she has already. Ms. Kenoyer made sure that CTSA (Consolidated Transportation System Agency) helps transport people from inside their starting location to inside their destination, rather than just providing curb-to-curb service. Her action helped over 5,000 individuals that were previously unable to make appointments because they need help getting to the curb. Similarly, and currently on the agenda, Ms. Kenoyer found a possible solution to "the problem of the unsheltered," which is an issue both locally and nationally. She found this possible solution in Turlock Gospel Mission’s successful H.A.M. center. Ms. Kenoyer has been very vocal over the past two years about Modesto’s need of a similar resource center because she takes Matthew 25:35-40 to heart. We met with Ms. Kenoyer to hear from her about what is in the works for Modesto's coming resource center for the unsheltered. Here is a break-down of the facts gleaned during and after our meeting: Tim Guerino of Turlock’s successful H.A.M. center has developed a possible plan for a Modesto resource center.

starting on page 153), and past Executive Director of Community Housing and Shelter Services, will be leading Stan Risen's team. Everyone, including those in the faithbased community, will be invited to the April summit and be able to give feedback about the best way to row together (Stan Risen speaks in this Catalyst video, as does Jenny Kenoyer in the Q&A). $1 million has been set aside for this project, but ultimately the government is not the long-term answer: One goal is to make sure the resource center isn’t government-funded so that 1) the way services are provided is not as restrictive, and 2) it does not go the way of Sunshine Place, which ended when government funding dried up. This is possible when everyone rows together like they do in Turlock. Even Turlock merchants contribute their resources to the H.A.M. center because of what it has done for their businesses. The way some services currently function in Modesto may take a different shape once everyone is rowing together. For example: Once the resource center is functional, programs that take place in parks will end, relocate to real buildings, or be funneled to the resource center. Why? Because

The Modesto Police Department is on board.

The ultimate goal of the resource center is to empower the unsheltered to become independent, full participants in Modesto

Stan Risen, CEO of Stanislaus County, has a team of people preparing an April summit of Modesto businesses, churches, nonprofits, mental health professionals, et cetera. Leading up to this summit, these groups will conduct a “gap analysis” of needs met and unmet in the unsheltered population. During the summit, these groups will give and receive feedback and suggestions on how everyone can “row together” to make the one-stop resource center a real solution. Aaron Farnon, President of Stanislaus Housing & Support Services Collaborative, President of Stanislaus Continuum of Care (see Appendix C

culture, so that they can experience restored dignity and self-worth, and so that downtown night life and city parks can be beautiful and enjoyed. Whereas currently ordinances against dumpster diving and camping in parks (etc.) are not enforced because they are “crimes of necessity” for the unsheltered, after the resource center is functional, those ordinances won’t even be needed (though they will obviously still exist).

The resource center will allow pets, will not require participation in worship (though it will often be an option when churches are providing services), and will be less restrictive than currently available services. Modesto: How do you see yourself rowing together with your neighbors on this resource center project to help solve the problem of the unsheltered? Are you helping the disadvantaged during the holidays? Share your thoughts in the comments. By Maryann Spikes a Successful Writer of Modesto

Capricorn: This month seems to revolve around finances and relationships as Pluto moves easily from one situation to another. The Moon in your sign on the 14th through the 16th joins Pluto in his Squared position with Uranus causing difficulties when it seems as if you feel that some who are there to support you only seem to do so because of what you can offer them. This may not be the case, or it may be the case, but it’s the feeling that makes it just such a yucky situation. At the same time, it’s a very clear perspective that allows you to really understand how the game needs to be played from this point forward. By the end of the month as Venus and Mars join Uranus’ aspect with Pluto, you may find yourself in the position to re-evaluation some of your business relationships, understanding that you and you alone have what it takes to shine when it comes to your hopes and dreams. This can be a challenge indeed, but it opens the door for you to understand just how awesome you are, and that is what is really important when it comes down to it. Lucky Days: 4th – 6th Aquarius: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the Aquarians born this month!!! Mercury’s retrograde ends on the 11th and as he and the Sun move out of opposition with Jupiter for a bit in the middle of the month, you can find a bit of a rest period when it comes to advancements in career and personal goals. But the Moon brings it back for a day when she comes into your sign on the 17th, and you may find yourself focused on your own failure in achieving your dreams, and this challenge is here to show you just how much you can beat yourself up over that whole perfection thing, giving you an opportunity to hang up the whip and look at things from a different point of view. Mercury moves back into opposition with Jupiter at the end of the month for a short time, creating financial issues that seem like the same one’s you’ve had over and over again. But his aspects with Mars and Venus bring new life and energy into career goals that are closest to your heart, and the truth is, you can always make money, and the lesson is worrying about it gets you know where! You can achieve awesome things if you’re willing to do the work! Lucky Days: 6th – 8th Pisces: HAPPY BIRTHDAY PISCES!!!! And Happy Birthday to all of the fishies born this month!!!! Mars, Venus and the Sun make their way through your sign this week, bringing new energy, love, and success when it comes to your career and enjoying those that love you. At the same time, all of these planets join Neptune in her Squared position with Saturn, making waves when it seems that those who are supposed to support you in your success may not seem like they are, and even creating issues when it seems as if you just don’t have the time to do all the things you need and want to do. The Moon in your sign around the 19th intensifies this feeling of no time for everything, causing worry over whether or not you can handle the situation. But at the same time, as Mars and Venus say good-bye their Grand Sextile with Saturn and Mercury give you a boost of confidence, and help you make the money you need to move forward in awesome ways. Have faith in what you can do!!! You never know what you might be capable of! Lucky Days: 8th – 10th Aries: Get ready for an exciting month filled with possibilities!!!! Taurus: The first week of the month brings a nice break from any kind of specific focus, one of those times where you can go with the flow, not much challenge, but rather a peaceful feeling. The type of feeling that can be unsettling, like the calm before the storm. If you feel this way, you wouldn’t be completely off, though it’s only a storm if you allow it to be. As you get into the second week of the month, focus moves toward the mirror that is the reflection of our inner most self, both the beautiful and the pain attached to old roots. Though this is not necessarily what most would want to deal with, once you can face that reflection without pain, you find you can do anything. The Moon enters your sign on the 23rd, creating situations that may really mirror those roots as you find yourself having difficulties both financially, and with some of those you love, and worry that you just can’t seem to change wants to take over. But from difficulty springs new life into new adventures, and her aspect with the sun allows you to shine in some new and awesome projects. Give yourself the permission to let the pain of the past go, and be ready to embrace the present with everything you’ve got! Lucky Days: 15th – 17th Gemini: February is all about you! The celebration of one of the most multi-faceted of signs, and the many accomplishments that you are capable of! The energy is perfect for new ventures, as well as advancement in already begun ventures. As the Month moves toward the end, you’ll find some time to relax, reflecting on the amazing things you’ve been able to create while giving you some time to recuperate for the next big thing. But as the Moon comes into your sign on the 25th, tensions may be high as she moves into T Square position with Saturn, and Neptune and the Sun in full conjunction, making you feel as if the brakes have been put on your plans, and just like always responsibilities are getting in the way of your success. That “just like always” thought is the old pattern, and this situation is begging you to turn that same ol’ same ol’ into a chance for an awesome new start, reaching for success with both hands rather than “assuming” everything will fall to pieces. Your success is in your hands, and no one else’s. Lucky Days: 17th – 19th Cancer: The Moon begins and ends the month in your sign this month, finding herself in T Squared position with Uranus and Pluto both times. On the 1st, it’s the same old situation with finances, where there never seems to be enough to cover everything, and though you really want to provide everything you can to those that love you, you find yourself feeling as if you’re stopping short of the finish line every time. But her Trine with Mars shows you that money alone doesn’t prove your love, but the energy you put into these beloved people means more than anything you could buy for them. As the month comes to an end, she finds herself in the same position, although it feels more as if you can’t change the relationships you have in order to achieve the successes you want when it comes to your career. But her Trine with the Sun says you CAN shine and be a success, providing you’re ready to take back that power yourself, and understand that you’re in control of your destiny and not them. This leads to the feeling of your own awesome power, and with this power in your own hands there really is no stopping you now! Lucky Days: 19th – 21st Leo: The Moon heads into your sign on the 2nd, spending her few days early and then moving on for the rest of the month. Jupiter’s opposition with the Sun and Mercury only intensifies with her influence, and you may find yourself thinking thoughts about all of the things in the world that seem to get in the way of achieving your dreams. But she also intensifies Jupiter’s Trine with Pluto, providing the support you need in order to help you see that the way you’re looking at things is ultimately what is getting in your way. By the middle of the month, the Sun and Mercury move out of opposition with Jupiter, creating a week of peace from the inner struggle. But as Mercury goes direct and finds his way back into opposition with Jupiter, finances may become the struggle, but at the same time his Trine with Uranus, now joined by Venus and Mars, create some fantastic possibilities when it comes to your career, and this can have you feeling like you’ve got your awesome back in spades!!! The end of the difficult phase is drawing near! It’s time to go out there and get what you want! Lucky Days: 21st – 23rd

Virgo: This month you may find yourself focused on home and those you love. Whether you find that you are called upon to care for those individuals, or fix or organize some things in the home, it feels as if the need to make things a bit easier is what February is all about. With a busy schedule, it’s important to make sure all of your responsibilities flow smoothly from one to another, and the Moon coming into your sign on the 5th comes in like a wrecking ball, making it seem as if your daily responsibilities, those that are attached to work, and the all-important home responsibilities are not working very well together. At the same time this challenge is all about giving yourself some time, and being patient with yourself, understanding that you are not a super hero, but a human being just like the rest of us. And the truth is, sometimes your loved ones and caring for them is just more important than everything else. Once the Moon moves on, it’s nothing but awesome from here, as you find the challenging experience has taught you a thing or two about what you are capable of! Lucky Days: 23rd – 25th

Libra: This month you find yourself focused on those you love, both in beautiful and difficult ways, especially as the Moon comes into your sign on the 7th. Her opposition with Mars may make a bit of difficulty when you find yourself torn by a decision that may not be best for the family, but it may be for you, but at the same time, her Grand Sextile with Saturn and Mercury prove that some of those you love dearly are there to help you make that decision, and help you see just how much achieving your dreams is important for everyone as a whole. By the 8th, she moves into T Square position with Pluto and Uranus, bring finances into an already difficult decision. The key to this challenge is to trust what your heart needs, and not what others are telling you to do. Ultimately this very thing creates an awesome peacefulness for you to enjoy with these individuals for the rest of the month. Lucky Days: 25th – 27th

Scorpio: Prioritizing your schedule is what is in store for you this month, creating open spaces for new ideas and new things to keep life exciting and fun! The Moon comes into your sign on the 10th, spending the next couple of days in Trine position with Neptune, Venus, and Mars, helping to put some energy behind your accomplishments when it comes to your career, and helping you to see the importance of what you do. Though her position with Mercury is tricky at this time, causing some communication break-down when it comes to explaining your hopes and dreams, the proof of success is in what you can achieve, not necessarily what you say about it. Make room in your schedule for lots of new and exciting adventures to begin! It’s about time for some awesome new adventures! Lucky Days: 27th and 28th, 1st and 2nd

Sagittarius: This month building strong relationships around a busy schedule is the focus of most of your time, and Saturn’s Squared position with Neptune finds itself a problem as first Mars, then Venus, and finally the Sun toward the end of the month join in this aspect, often making it seem as if no matter what you do you can’t seem to move forward when it comes to your career. The Moon entering your sign on the 12th only makes this feeling more intense, but her aspect with Mars provides the energy and steam you need to get past the obstacles and get things done, moving forward in your career goals despite the challenges. By the end of the month, Saturn’s Trine with Venus and Mars brings new life to what you do for a living, as well as new meaning, giving you the energy you need to achieve awesome successes in your career and doing what you love to do, and all the challenges in the world can’t take that away from you!! Lucky Days: 2nd – 4th
