What to Know About French Press
When it comes to French press coffee, it is important to use coarsely ground coffee beans, as fine grounds can slip through the mesh filter and end up in your cup.
To use a French press, you'll need coarse coffee grounds and hot water. The coffee and water are steeped together for several minutes for optimal flavor. Additionally, it is important to use water that is just off the boil. This is because water that is too hot can burn the coffee. Conversely, water that is not hot enough will not be able to extract the full flavor of the coffee.
Then the plunger is pressed down to separate the liquid from the ground. The resulting coffee is usually stronger and has a deeper flavor than coffee brewed with a drip coffee maker.
