Pre-Shave Prep: The Warm Up
Before you let your electric shaver glide across your face, it's important to prep your skin.
Washing your face with warm water and a gentle cleanser rids your skin of excess oil and dead skin cells. This not only provides a clean canvas for the shaver but also softens the stubble, making it easier to cut. A hot towel draped over your face for a few minutes achieves the same end, opening up the pores and readying your skin for the shave.
Next, consider using a pre-shave product. These come in various formsoils, lotions, and gels - and help create a smooth barrier between your skin and the shaver, reducing friction and thereby lowering the chance of skin irritation.
