Korean-style beef bulgogi is a delicious and savory dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. The thinly sliced beef is marinated in a flavorful mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger, then pan-seared to perfection.

Bulgogi Beef Cooking Steps

Ingredients:

1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced

5 tablespoons soy sauce

3 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoon cooking wine (or light beer)

3 tablespoons water

2 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon grated ginger

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 scallions, thinly sliced

1 handful of baby spinach

1/2 brown onion, thinly sliced

1/2 tablespoon sesame seeds

Butter white rice, for serving

Instructions:

In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, cooking wine/beer, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.

Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, making sure that each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. When ready to cook, heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan.

Fry the onion till it turns translucent. Using a slotted spoon, remove the beef from the marinade and add it to the skillet. Keep the remaining marinade for the sauce preparation.

6. Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes until it turns brown.

7. In the same pan, add the sliced scallions and baby spinach. Stir fry for 1 minute.
