Projections Study Abroad | Fall 2017 Professors John Blood, Larry Doll, & Elizabeth Danze 5 weeks
Projections are drawings that allow for the projection of unknown meaning of architectural space and explore what could be through diagrams and sketches. The focus of these drawings can range in scale from small details to overall organization. Through projections, designers can question what is true about a space and learn from the design decisions of other architects.

Crossings Study Abroad | Fall 2017 Professors John Blood, Larry Doll, & Elizabeth Danze 5 weeks
Crossings are studies and representations of how architectural form responds to phenomena that influence form. Natural light is a major influence in most design concepts and is becoming an ever-growing focus of architectural design and its impact on our health and well-being. This crossings study analyzes various ways that light can enter a building or space.

Typologies study elements of buildings of similar types and/or usage in order to compare the design strategies of that category. Houses of worship are a defining element of many major European cities large and small. These studies investigate the various ways light, space, and detail are considered in houses of worship throughout Europe.
