Section 4: Quantitative and Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis Purpose: In this section, you will learn about quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods data collection and analysis and how to communicate the results. Additionally, this section provides examples of metrics that measure health outcomes using NRPA’s Elevating Health Equity Through Parks and Recreation: A Framework for Action.9

Learning Objectives •

To understand how to collect data through quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches.

To understand how to conduct basic analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.

To understand how to properly interpret and communicate the results.

To identify health metrics that include equity measures to use in evaluations.
