Final Idea

Final Idea Here is our final idea for our final film. We chose idea 3 of a psychological horror film opening.

Opening Titles Location: in small areas of Clare Country Park. - This will consist of establishing shots, with close up’s of different parts for our opening titles. Our final film is an opening for a horror.

Scene One This is where the main character (Ellie) is waking up in her bedroom; this scene will have dim natural lighting as we aim to film it in the early morning. Ellie will wake up after her phone alarm goes off, she then will slowly get up and get ready, to then go out to meet the other characters (Ben, Imogen and Bronte). Within this we will make sure everything in the room is placed there for a reason, e.g. medicine bottles next to bed. She then leaves the house.

Scene Two This will be where Ellie meets the other characters, first she walks along by herself to then turn a corner and Bronte, Imogen and Ben are there (this will be a tension and release as tension will be built through the audience not knowing where Ellie is going and then release will be it just being her friends) and greet her. All four characters then begin to walk to the abandoned filming. Ellie is a lot more reserved than the other characters. Imogen holds back with Ellie and asks if she is ok. Bronte and Ben are ahead messing about. Bronte then holds back with Imogen and Ellie, and jokingly nudges Ellie telling her to cheer up. They continue to walk until they reach the building.

Scene Three This is when all four characters reach the building. All the characters begin to relax in the building. Then Ben, being the immoral teen, brings out a few bottles of alcohol from his backpack. Bronte immediately accepts the alcohol, Imogen refuses and Ellie seems very pressured into drinking it. Ellie has a panic attack and leaves the building; Imogen goes after her to comfort her. Ellie and Imogen then wonder off. Imogen becomes a bit too comforting towards Ellie (being up close, constantly asking her if she’s ok) and then becomes angry/frustrated and pushes/strangles Imogen. Ellie backs away (looked panicked and shocked) and runs back towards the building.

Scene Four Ellie returns to the building flustered and still in panic. Bronte and Ben are laughing/drinking still and look up to Ellie. She quietly sits down and tries to act normal again. Bronte begins to mock Ellie (medicine, appearance); Ellie becomes annoyed/frustrated. Ben tries to pressure Ellie into drinking more and Bronte joins in. Ben goes to be sick, Bronte wonders off out the building due to Ellie being “boring. Bronte comes to a dead end and Ellie walks towards her (tense & creepy). Fight scene (Ellie grabs a brick and begins to hit Bronte in the head with it repeatedly), Bronte dies.

Scene Five Ellie returns to the building (angry) Ben’s back in the building sitting with his head in his hands (feeling sick). Ellie approaches Ben sarcastically asking Ben if he’s ok. Ellie knocks him out with a bottle. Ben wakes up kneeled on the ground with ankles and hands tied. Ellie is stood with her back to him; torture’s him (dialogue e.g. “Why won’t you leave me alone”), Ellie pours petrol on him (not real, water) and begins to light a match but it doesn’t light, this angers her, she runs over to him and snaps his neck. Mirror is against the wall, as Ellie walks away she catches herself in it, she then gets frustrated at seeing herself and begins to smash the mirror.

Scene Six The mirror ends up on the floor. Ellie kneels in front of it (angry/sad/annoyed) and puts her head in her hands. After a few seconds she looks back in the mirror and Ben, Bronte and Imogen (dead) are all stood there, she falls back in shock and stumbles out of the building. She runs back towards her home, flashes of the characters she killed appear on her way home. Ellie falls and the screen goes black.

Scene Seven After the black out, Ellie is back in her bed and wakes up again (repetition of the previous morning scene). Our final film is an opening for a horror and by Ellie waking up back in her bed leaves a cliff hanger/story line for the rest of the ‘film’.
