Welcome

As you read these words, we are officially less than 60 days away from occupying our Kingdom Worship Center! Can you believe it? We have traveled as Pastor and people for several years trusting God that this day would come. The day that we would walk into our church home, the day that we would stop paying rent but instead have assets that would bring God Glory. Brothers and Sisters, in less than 60 days, we will occupy that space and I can’t wait for you to see the work that the team has put into this beautiful building. Every area has been thoughtfully planned for us to worship our God and for countless souls to say Yes to Jesus! As we prepare to occupy next month, I want us to take some intentional time and prepare our hearts and minds for what God has ahead. For many of us who call the DMV home, our Tech Road location is all that we know. For others, you remember Blair High School and what God did in that space.

In preparation, all month long I will be leading us through a series, “Necessary Endings,” using the book by Dr. Henry Cloud in the conversation. We will thank God for all that He has done for Kingdom Fellowship in this worship space. We will also allow ourselves to close out one chapter so we can fully embrace this next chapter. As we end our time of worship in this building, I also believe as a congregation we have some other things, and maybe even relationships, that we need to end during this season. I encourage you to pray and seek the face of God so that you might clearly see what things need to end in order for you to start new and fresh.

March is also the beginning of Lent Season in the Christian faith. We have several Lent Groups that you can join this month as you process what God might be doing in your life. Don’t forget about our daily prayer calls during this season. That information can be found on the page back of this Gather Guide.

You will also find the line-up of worship experiences that we have planned. I can’t wait for us to be together in worship in our new Worship Center, and to end this chapter at our Tech Road location. You can register to join us now for the March worship experiences, and in the days to come, you will be able to register for the experiences at our Kingdom Worship Center as well.

I know that you are as excited as I am about all of the great things the Lord has done and is doing here through Kingdom Fellowship AME Church. We have committed our work to the Lord, and we are seeing those plans manifested! Let’s close out the month of March well and remain Kingdom Focused!
