The Marketplace Movement Secular World takes note …
Forbes Magazine: “Spirituality in the Workplace” LA Times: “Faithful carving niche in Workplace” NY Times: “With God at our Desks” Fortune: “Jesus Inc.”
Numerous other secular media are keenly aware of an increasing awareness of Christian “activity” in the workplace.
The Marketplace Movement Spiritual Awareness “I believe one of the next great moves of God is going to be through believers in the workplace” Billy Graham
“God is marshalling his people in the workplace as never before in history. God is up to something”
Henry Blackaby
“In today’s global community, the greatest channel of distribution for salt & light is the business community” Bill Pollard
“Indeed, as with first-century Christianity, it all begins in the marketplace, where disciples of Jesus daily rub shoulders with the lost” Bill McCartney
Marketplace Movement Scriptural Context “So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there” Acts 17:17 “He
took the disciples with him and had discussion daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for 2 years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord” Acts 19:10
Marketplace Movement New Understanding of Work … Vocation – a definition “A summons from God to an individual or group to undertake the obligation, and perform the Duties of a particular task or function in life” “It involves the total orientation of a man’s life and work in terms of his total sense of mission, regardless of where he fulfills that mission” “A divine call to a place of service to others in accordance with a divine plan” Webster’s International Dictionary
Marketplace Movement FCCI/Crown Companies – our part Vision Transforming our world through Christ, one company leader at a time
Mission In pursuit of Christ’s eternal objectives, we equip and encourage Christian business leaders to operate their businesses and conduct their personal lives according to biblical principles
Marketplace Movement FCCI/Crown Companies – our part A New Paradigm “To be Anointed for business is to be set aside by God for service in the marketplace” “To use your job as a ministry vehicle to bring transformation to the marketplace so that the gospel will reach Everyone within your sphere of influence” Ed Silvoso
The Power of Groups Life Change happens in the context of healthy and dynamic small groups FCCI Small Group Benefits -
Genuine Peer Fellowship Encouragement Support – a safe haven Wise business counsel Prayer Business excellence Biblical accountability Equipping & training
The Power of Groups While the various functions of a Group are vital, it is only as they serve our ultimate purpose that they are truly relevant. “To help Christian business leaders understand and embrace their God-given calling to the marketplace, and see their business or career as ministry. To lead them on a journey to personal and business transformation, that will lead to marketplace transformation
The Power of Groups It’s all about Relationships 1. Our Relationship with Christ – It all starts there An FCCI Group should, “help you fall more in love with Jesus, and the rest will take care of itself”.
2. Our relationship with others An FCCI Group should build healthy, nurturing, accountable and supportive relationships between members.

We need to meet them where they are !
Group Leaders What is our role ? The “success” of any Group will depend primarily on the skills, attitude, commitment and passion of the Group leader.
It is God’s Group – not your Group ! Your are a facilitator – not the Boss ! You don’t have all the answers – don’t dominate ! Remember the ultimate purpose of your Group experience. Stick to the program – but stay flexible. Be a servant; extend grace, compassion and encouragement. Embrace your role as Anointed and Called of God to “lead”. Have Fun !
