Jesus affirms the church at Smyrna: Revelations 2:8-11 • Jesus encourages the church to stand firm and to keep going. • He reminds them of the reward that awaits them and that their trouble will be temporary. • People get emotionally low, they grow weary and become doubtful. • They need a leader’s encouragement.
