Mark in the Park. When Mr Smart, our Head of Curriculum Support, began memorising Mark’s Gospel eight years ago, he was keen to find a way to get it out of churches and into the public sphere. That gave birth to Mark in the Park, a riveting one man, word-for-word dramatization of the Gospel of Mark, with plenty of action, loads of moving moments and not a little humour. In 2016 - when he had finished memorising and rehearsing all 11,000 words of the Gospel - he took it on tour. Using Speakers’ Corners in four parks - London, Bristol, Southampton and Lichfield, he performed Mark’s Gospel for thousands of people who wandered by or stopped to watch.
