Procedure if your child is ill and unable to attend school
he term has got off to a crisp start, reinforced by some encouraging Oxbridge results with 9 students confirmed so far as holding offers, some excellent music with our chamber choir performing with distinction in Winchester Cathedral and some excellent results in the hockey and netball.
To enable us to be sure of the whereabouts and safety of our students it is important that you contact the Main Office (02380 704561 or by email absent@kes.hants.sch.uk) as soon as possible, preferably by 8.30am, if your child is ill or is going to be late.
However, the start to the New Year has also been tinged with sadness with the news of the death of a former Head Master, Colin Dobson, at the age of 82. He was in charge of the School for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1990 and oversaw the moves to independence in 1979 and coeducation in 1983. The School owes him a great debt of gratitude and a memorial service will be held in due course for those who would like to honour his service to King Edward’s. AJ Thould
If the illness is on-going please contact the Main Office on each day that your child is absent. We would also be grateful if you would reinforce the need for your child to report to the Main Office if they arrive late to School.
