During my M.Arch at the University of Salford, I proposed a resource center for the future of food in Blackburn. In the context of climate change, network fragility, global health pressures & ultra-processed food, the proposal seeks to change consumer behavior as a way to improve living standards by improving the transparency in the food production cycle. Occupants are introduced to the concept of sustainable food growing and every town has access to the community garden. The project buttresses a goal of sustainable food production in cities and how it responds to the context, where more production & consumption occur for less carbon footprint
