RTP 77 24-Hour Taxi Driver Training

Weekdays and Weekends 9am-6pm

For the New York City Taxi Operators (Hack) License prescribed by the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. Day and evening schedules will be available for part-time and full-time attendance. RTP 31 Two-hour Portable Electronic Device (PED) Course for Taxi & Limo Drivers

Prescribed by the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission, this is a mandatory course for those who were issued a summons for distracted driving in violation of the TLC Rule #2-25H. This course will provide drivers with the skills necessary to use portable electronic devices while operating a taxi cab. The $35 fee must be paid at least three days before the exam, and by Money Order only.

RTP 32 Four-hour English and Test Preparation for Taxi & Limo Drivers

This one session six-hour course is geared toward Taxi drivers and new TLC (Hack) license applicants. The $25 registration fee is waived for this class.

RTP 71 Medallion Taxi Driver Workshop

This four-hour class is a TLC mandatory program that must be taken prior to your probationary license expiring. This course is specifically designed to provide all licensed Hack Operators with the fundamentals of professional development, communication skills and customer service, in addition to the skills necessary in providing excellent customer service to passengers with disabilities. The $25 registration fee is waived for this class.

If English is not your first language, this class will help you prepare for the Taxi & Limousine Commission’s English Language Proficiency Test. This class will give you the opportunity to take a practice exam, to practice pronouncing, recognizing, listening, and distinguishing numbers, addresses and spellings of common NYC destinations and landmarks, in addition to giving you opportunities to practice common courteous exchanges. Small class size customized for TLC drivers’ needs. The $25 registration fee is waived for this class.

An intensive course for high school students preparing for the Oct 6 SAT, this course provides expert advice and instruction. Certified instructors provide review and practice under simulated test conditions to help prepare students for the verbal reasoning, essay portion, and problem-solving skills measured by the test. Study skills, coaching and test-taking tips are provided, as well as individual and group conferences with a certified college counselor. A workshop for parents and guardians is included in the last session. The text book is available for purchase in the college’s bookstore and should be brought to all class sessions.

This EMT-B Certification program prepares you for the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Certification, valid for three years.
