The door to the future Education is the foundation for a thoughtful and successful adulthood. During their years at King’s, our students and their parents ultimately contemplate what they will do when they complete their studies here. Pupils from King’s have more choices than most, but that means considering those options carefully, measuring the benefits and optimising opportunities. We all hope for a future replete with personal success – home, family, security, community – and achieving that success means becoming a thoughtful, strong and productive member of society.
Exposure to students from so many different countries at King’s College stirred a curiosity in me about how people live in different parts of the world. Anthony Sáez Executive Director, Bureau of Pensions Advocates at Department of Veterans Affairs Canada King’s College Madrid 1980

The success of our alumni is a source of immense pride for me. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to the growth and education of young people and that doesn’t end when they finish their studies at King’s, but carries on throughout their university years and into their professional lives. An International Outlook
Out into the world Throughout their time at King’s College, our students develop a passion for learning, which means that the majority of them want to continue learning at university. Studying at King’s is under the British curriculum; this means that university entrance opportunities open up globally.
Breakdown of the subjects which King’s College students have chosen to study this year 6% 8%
1. The British curriculum encourages independent learning and exploration Our students therefore adapt easily to university life, which is often quite unstructured, meaning students have to proactively find their own answers and solutions.

2. The range of subjects is very varied and broad Our schools offer a wide range of A Level subjects so that our students have a wide choice of university degrees accessible to them. Some universities will still accept students onto a course even if they have taken an A Level which is similar to the university degree subject. For example, a student who has studied History A Level can study Politics, Ancient History, International Relations and much more at university.
3. British qualifications are recognised worldwide Some of the best universities in the world are in Britain, but King’s College students can, and do, also study at many other top universities around the world, including Harvard University, the University of Groningen and the Lisbon School of Economics.

Abdel Harvard University. 2016 “In all honesty, I believe that if I hadn’t attended King’s College Saint Michaels, I wouldn’t have been accepted into Harvard. Everyone at the school was very supportive throughout the application process. My teachers and tutors spent many hours with me writing my recommendation letter, filling forms, sending my grades and even speaking to the Harvard admissions office on the phone.”

I hope to pursue my passion for both by studying Applied Mathematics, which I will be able to declare next year. I’m living in Cambridge, Massachusetts, attending Harvard University. During my time at King’s College, Mr. McNally was an enormous help in guiding me through the application process, and being a wonderful sounding board along the way. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.”

Bilingual Advantage in a Changing World
Humanities This is the most popular subject for our students to go and study. Overall, Law is very popular, but at the top UK universities, of which half of our students have gone to, languages has been the most popular choice this year. Learning languages is a lot easier for students who are already bilingual in one language. This combined with the mix of nationalities in our schools, means that our students understand the value of languages and the opportunities that these can offer, in terms of jobs in today’s globalised society.
Miranda Imperial Cambridge University, 2015 “With the help of the Sixth Form advisory team, who made the process of applying to university far less daunting and helped me take part in many extra-curricular activities around Madrid, the school has enabled me to develop my passion for Politics and to approach this subject, usually studied outside of the school curriculum, from different angles. The opportunities that King’s has provided me with have been determining factors in achieving my dream to study at Cambridge.”

The facilities are much better than in other schools. I am doing what I love and I am really enjoying myself, despite the long hours of hard work. In the near future, I hope to finish my Piano degree and start another in Orquestral Conducting, which is one of my dreams”

Fostering Relationships
Alumni As educators, we are proud of our former pupils’ success and that is why we work so hard at helping them to reach their potential while they are with us. Just as important is where they go next, because after watching them grow up, we will always be curious as to where their lives take them. We are grateful for the interest that our alumni continue to have in King’s and do our best to foster relationships with our former pupils, to promote networks that facilitate their keeping in touch with one another, as well as their professional development. Ernesto University College London, 2014 “Studying at King’s offered me engaging classes which challenged me and really opened up my mind to a lot of things. Studying at UCL is a dream, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my teachers at King’s College, who always valued our opinions and ideas in class, and made us feel like we mattered. I have always been really interested in the most basic questions that encompass our daily lives; Physics enables me to understand (almost) everything, from why an aeroplane can fly, to why our universe exists in the first place.”
