Kings UK University Preparation Pricelist 2016–17

Page 1

UK University Preparation Courses 2016 – 2017 Prices, dates and key information A-level This course is for the most able students who are seeking places on competitive degree courses at the most elite universities in the UK or internationally.

Extended A-level The Extended A-level is designed for students with lower language levels who intend to follow a main A-level course. It develops language proficiency to the level required for the demands of A-level, while also developing academic study skills and providing academic subject enrichment in preparation for the main A-level syllabus.

One-year A-level The one-year A-level is available at Kings London and is suitable only for students with an exceptional academic record and minimum IELTS 6.5. Subjects include Maths, Further Maths, Economics, Physics and Chemistry.

International High School Programme

Level 4 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality

This programme provides development in English and academic subjects within an international high school. Students follow a British curriculum within a small class environment, and have the opportunity to sit formal British exams.

This course is for students who want fast-track entry to Year 2 of a degree course in Tourism and Hospitality Management, or to begin a career at junior management level.

IELTS Preparation Course Art and Design Preparation Programme This course is perfect for students who need to develop their portfolio and/or their language level prior to a main art-related course. As such is it highly flexible and adaptable to their specific needs, and has been carefully designed to integrate with several art-related programmes at Kings.

Art Foundation This course is for students wanting the fastest, most direct path to an art and design-related degree course at a UK university.

Advanced Level Foundation This intensive one-year foundation course is for students who are seeking places at leading UK universities. It is based on the A-level syllabus and recognised by a wide variety of UK Higher Education institutions.

Law Foundation This course is designed for students who want to apply to study a law degree at a UK university. Core modules are combined with specialist modules in law plus two electives chosen from a wide range of subjects.

This course is for students who need an intensive course of 28 lessons per week to develop general language skills while also gaining specialist preparation for the IELTS exam.

Super Intensive IELTS This course is for students who need a full-time, very intensive course which concentrates 100% on skills for IELTS and offers thorough preparation for the exam in as short a time as possible.

English for Academic Study This course is for students who do not yet have the English language level needed to start a Kings pre-university course, and who need careful and thorough preparation for the intellectual and linguistic demands of GCSE, A-level or Kings Foundation courses.

Extended Foundation This course includes an academic year which introduces academic subjects and language development prior to studying Advanced Level Foundation. It offers an alternative to a two-year A-level for students with a lower language entry point who require a more incremental approach.

International Business Foundation This course is for students who want either a recognised, stand-alone business qualification, or are intending to use it to progress to a university degree course related to business or management.

GCSE This course is for students aged 14 or 15 who want a pathway to a British university and have not yet finished High School education in their home country. We will determine the right path for every student — from a three-term accelerated course to a two-year programme.

Tourism and Hospitality Management Foundation This course is for students who want to progress to a university degree course related to tourism and hospitality management, or to a career in this sector.
