Kings Progression Advisors The difference between transfer to good universities and transfer to great universities!

Kings GO Programs are designed to ensure our students transfer to graduate at great universities – in fact to many of the very best Top 50/100 universities in the US. There are lots of factors which make this possible. But perhaps the most important of all is the quality of the professional expertise each Kings student receives from their dedicated Progression Advisor. These experts in US degree programs and universities provide a highly personalized service to every student. This starts even before our students leave home and continues throughout their time in the US. It includes campus life support, academic and career support as well as specialized support for transfer to a Top 50 or Top 100 university.

We are very proud of our Progression Advisors. They have been carefully chosen to join the Kings team as professionals with significant expertise in the US Higher Education system.

Meet the Team Chuck Kaufman Kings Progression Advisor at Fisher College,Boston Chuck joined Kings in 2020 as the Kings Boston Progression Advisor. Chuck started working with international students at Hampshire College, where he worked as an admissions officer. Prior to working in international education, Chuck worked for over 25 years in public relations and corporate communications. Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts double majoring in History and Government from Skidmore College and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Babson College. Michael McFall Kings Progression Advisor at UW Oshkosh Michael joined Kings as a Progression Advisor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Fox Cities, where he previously served as a professor for 5 years. Michael has extensive experience in higher education, having taught at several different universities for 15 years including Stanford University and Syracuse University. Michael earned a PhD in Philosophy from Syracuse University. He has taught courses at the college-level in the following disciplines: Philosophy, Religion, Literature, History, Mathematics, and Business. In addition, Michael has published multiple books and dozens of professional essays. Mandi Haag Kings Progression Advisor at UW Oshkosh Mandi grew up pursuing musical theater in Fox Cities and attended St. Norbert College to obtain a BA in Secondary English Education. Following that, volunteer teaching ESL to adults in Minnesota sparked her love of working with international students. She is excited for the opportunity to use her MA in TESOL from St. Cloud State University, in combination with years of helping students of all ages, to help provide support and guidance for students from around the world. Laura Rizzo Kings Progression Advisor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent Laura has over 20 years of education experience. She worked as an Admissions Representative at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts before teaching and advising students at TCI College of Technology and Miami Country Day School. Laura is the Founder and Artistic Director of Rising Stars Youth Theatre Academy. Laura received her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Western New Mexico University and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Theatre from New York University (NYU). She also has a Doctorate in Education in ESOL from Northcentral University. Billy Bodin Sooksavath Kings Progression Advisor at Cal State Fullerton Billy has been with Kings for over 7 years. He brings a wealth of experience as Progression Advisor as he has been advising students on academic matters and has been an instructor in the classroom. He understands all the challenges students face and knows how to help students achieve academic success. As a graduate of the UC and Cal State system, he has a deep understanding of public universities in California. Billy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Global Cultures from UC Irvine and a Master of Arts in TESOL at California State University, Los Angeles. He has been a Writing Consultant for Graduate students at California State University, Los Angeles. He currently serves on the CATESOL board as a YouTube Coordinator.

Supported The role of each Progression Advisor is to ensure that every student is happy, secure and fully prepared to maximize their US degree potential. We call it our GO: Supported service.

1. Pre-departure Support They will: Connect with you online even before you travel to the US. I’ll set up online sessions to prepare you for your departure.

2. Campus Life Support They will: provide a guided tour of the campus support you in setting up bank accounts, a local mobile number and can offer local city tours help you navigate your life on campus, for example if you have any housing questions or concerns help you connect with campus resources pair you up with another student on campus help in creating and implementing fun social events and excursions so that you can enjoy your time on campus help you navigate your healthcare needs, for example setting you up with a doctor or dentist be available to you through your preferred communication channel: WeChat, LINE, KakaoTalk, WhatsApp, iMessage.

3. Academic and Career Support They will: set up a personalized study plan for you, so that you can earn as many credits as possible and transfer to your dream university help you register for classes support you in selecting your major identify and provide additional support to academically at-risk students issue progress reports four times a year provide various online and offline resources so you can prepare for standardized tests such as the TOEFL, SAT and ACT, if needed help you find a tutor, if you need extra academic support. Top 100 Transfer Support They will: guide you through your transfer to a top 100 university, or a university of your choice assess your previous academic history and will help you in collecting necessary documents meet with you at least twice a month and a minimum of 20 hours per year (You are welcome to meet us as often as possible) help research universities appropriate for your major and research admissions requirements for target universities arrange and guide target university tours every 4 to 6 weeks, which will include free lunch and transportation. You will meet with professors or admissions staff at each university help you gather recommendations.
