Inspire: Introduction Autumn Term 2017 We are delighted to publish the Autumn Term’s Inspire Programme for our girls and parents. This term we look forward to a fantastic range of events and activities. We are excited about the launch of our ‘RSC Shadowing Scheme’ in which we visit the RSC Stratford each half term to see a production. This term we look forward to productions of Coriolanus and Twelfth Night. In addition, the Festival of Ideas in November promises to be superb, culminating in the second event in our Inspire Lecture Series, a talk given by Elaine Fox, Professor of Psychology and Affective Neuroscience at the University of Oxford and the author of the acclaimed book, Rainy Brain, Sunny Brain. We are delighted to welcome Dr Philip Seal to our staff. Dr Seal joins us as Co-ordinator of our Able, Gifted and Talented Programme. This term he will lead our lunchtime Inspire Seminar Series and a trip to Balliol College, Oxford in December, where students will have an opportunity to talk with college staff about life as an Oxford student and work to ‘design a dissertation’ to develop their own research interests. Our student-led societies get underway with a range of visiting speakers and we are delighted to promote The Ruth Court Mathematical Society for those keen to extend their learning beyond the classroom. We welcome parents to join us at the many concerts, talks and production performances this term. This brochure outlines all on offer and how to acquire tickets if necessary. We do hope you will enjoy reading through this brochure, the Inspire booklet for the girls, as well as the Festival of Ideas brochure. Our programme of events is designed to capture the imaginations of our students and promote intellectual curiosity and endeavour above and beyond the curriculum offering.
